  1. These sure do send a shiver RIP
  2. I hope so
  3. yep, we've all got masks. Thing that really worries me is when a mother with a small child in the pram walks past, we try to stop chipping when we spot the vulnerable but still whats it doing to a littluns' lungs
  4. Working on london planes recently and they are not nice at the mo!! Any chance someone could design a chipper with a sprinkler system in the hopper/somewhere in the chip process to keep the dust down?
  5. over the past few days ive been doing some smaller lifts, reductions with a pollard or two chucked in there too, nothing too major so ive been climbing on my hc with my stopper tied directly in to the top attachment hoop once my main anchor is in, (retying the stopper while accessing the tree is too laborious) and not once has my termination cought the top of my vt! if the top attachment loop was textile friendly i would do this all the time (until i have a splice) and would recommend the same technique to all who don't have a splice, but only if I knew there was no danger of the pulley cutting through the termination in the event of a fall (does anyone know where this could be tested), until then I'm back giving my hitch a knock while i dream of some new velocity with a splice
  6. gonna go for a few wraps of electrical tape for the time being, that stuff usually fixes all!
  7. what is this sawpod you speak of. can one be fashioned from some rope?
  8. what he said
  9. Makes little odds me thinks hehe
  10. Thanks for the info Chris, I'll get onto them ASAP.
  11. i'll send you my prototype hc i'll have ready in the morning :biggrin
  12. i know ziptie yeah, which slot steve?
  13. Quite, but then those with 13mm and no splice will still be in the same predicament
  14. not gonna happen is it
  15. The top hole would have to be 13mm to fit a rope
  16. whats a tiewrap?
  17. no, hms krabs don't fit the hc (cheers frank) my rope without a splice will still work with the hc and is apparently dangarous, this i believe needs to be addressed. However I will find out monday but i think if my idea would work and was implemented hms krabs would then fit the hc.
  18. Second thing monday morning
  19. on monday when i have my kit i'll take a picture of how i'd like to be able to use my hc. will i know when (if) my useful input reaches 22%
  20. I have an issue with my silky zubat, sometimes when climbing around the tree the sheaf sits on a branch and turns it upsidown which then leads to the saw falling out. I'm afraid one day this will happen to someone and the saw will do some damage to someone. Also, much less often, and not for a fair while now the clip can get pulled out and the whole lot will drop to the ground. Could silky do away with the clip and make the sheaf so it has a direct connection and also make the catch which keeps the saw in the sheaf a bit more reliable. does anyone have any little tricks to remedy this?
  21. If they did i'd be happy to use them in my climbing system, although it may then catch the top of my hitch no tears here, just trouble getting my point across
  22. The new pinto pulley has a design which allows direct connection to textiles. If the top connection point on the HC had the same design profile then the termination could be tied directly to the HC keeping the termination below the top of the climbing hitch removing the need for a splice DMM Pinto Pulleys - Treeworker.co.uk I'm sure you could keep the same krabs steve.
  23. go and work for mcdonalds? because i have an idea i see as an improvement to a product? i find this comment totally ridiculous if i see a moldy sandwich i aint gonna eat it. But i value your input frank, it's constructive and is one of the reasons i started this thread, I however dont think its got any legs. sorry
  24. As I'm unsure, nay positive that I'm not the only climber in the world using a termination knot with the HC. We can all have our opinions and mine is that after seeing the pinto pully, this product can be improved. My point is if i see a development that could be done to a product i'll put it out there and see what people think. it seems some seem to have taken offence to this
