  1. ie doing 41 would be a refresher for 39 as obviously using a saw in a tree but would not be a refresher for CS31 Though some firms make them do refreshers for EVERY unit
  2. Only if it is relevant
  3. My mate just had a insurance quote to take out some insurance from one of the guys advertising on the right of this page. It CLEARLY says Must have NPTC or Lantra ITA to be covered
  4. Ok Obviously I have done the job rigged most of it off itself which was not ideal but kept stuff small and went ok had to have a tag line to get it back on the bank All of the stem was lowered in 4 ft sections of the adjacent ash and again pulled back onto banking and ringed up. What would you of charged for the whole operation. Not just as a gung ho cut and slash climber. In all honesty dropping it all in the river was never an option.
  5. Liked the end of the video 1 thing i often find is equipment been used in rigging that the operative has little understanding of is this the operatives fault or the manufacturer. Personally I think the Manufacturers could do a lot more as could the importers in making web sites and actually a product info and advice sheet. Or even just a limitations sheet.
  6. Should a Positioner be used on a single line?
  7. superb thanks for posting
  8. pleas pm your address and will even send you a pair:thumbup: All in good condition as i change them often to save safety issues:thumbup:
  9. Please forgive me I am truly shocked by this thread how condoning practices that would break many many codes of practice and legislation. from a legal point of view we are NOT allowed to use any non CE kit for life support end of It has not been designed or intended to be used for this application legally my shoe lace would be just as suitable and I would certainly not use that before anyone suggestd that would be fine:blushing:
  10. I reckon you left you wallet at home then and your sandwich box otherwise well over:blushing:
  11. couple of points to throw out LOLER is not just about a 6 Monthly inspection Also the loler inspector can recomend different user written inspections than weekly to allow for infrequent users checking it for the sake of it when either not used or barely Still need to do a daily one but most of us do that as we get it out. Though on that note it is recomended to take all crabs ect of your harness at the end of a day and put em back on so that way you would actually be checking them:thumbup:rather than leave em on till needed:confused1:
  12. couple more Job done A lot more work than i thought and certainly the pics do not do it justice. Wish i had a camera man for that job:thumbup: But certainly not a swear box.
  13. if you come and do a weeks work for me i will give you a portawrap:thumbup:
  14. good call not come across a crawler crane or one that would of gained access will google now:thumbup: always something new cheers
  15. but the other trees are a fair bit away and not as tall. Personally i did not think they were close enough especially with the branch going over the shed Thoughts quip No access for crane IMO narrow access and a muddy paddock
  16. Forces from speedlining can be incredible
  17. Some adjacent trees but not for anchor and only for last 20 ft of stem
  18. More of a stream Just above welly height About 15 ft wide Nice one keV on the location
  19. Qualified and competent I also get fed up with folk winging and whining that their Loler guy knows less than them so why use them I know some ESP LA have to have insurance guy look but get it done as well by someone that does know. We do not let insurance guy even open the bags. Stick up for yourselves guys and galls and find someone that you trust
  20. This ash tree growing out of the bottom of a river bank at an acute angle over a river all the brash would have to be rigged including all the logwood and stem A fair amount of major branchwalking and all arrisings got to top of banking. No access for any machinery not even tracked mewps. Usually I don't worry too much but all the rigging is an issue as over 3 gardens one with massive decking on stilts one with newly landscaped gardens and new Shed and the other just a fence to avoid The tie in point is approximately 45 ft so not a little tree and about 3 foot dbh
  21. did you forget the bag or the camera:confused1:
  22. £300.
  23. ask the sports centre where they get theirs from:thumbup:
  24. they look really good how much:thumbup:
  25. I used to have a tipper van it was a proper box van that tipped so reckon definitely a tipper van:thumbup1: admittedly it was an LDV so does that count anyhow
