  1. Bed of Arctic is 16 metres x 2.5 metres stacked 2 high.
  2. That's what they loaded on last time - sorry I did not unload them to see. I'll post when others arrive.
  3. The traditional Advent Calendars appeared for the children as well the mum tonight - looked to contain lovely chocolate treats - where's mine?
  4. 10-12 with non-toxic use bottle. Can take 52 every 6 weeks. Thanks
  5. Avoid the pressure, do your own thing and don't behave like the masses who have been conditioned to behave in a certain way without even realising it.
  6. Yes, those little faces is a sight to behold !
  7. Agreed, but not at competitive prices that you or I would like to pay. Thanks for posting.
  8. With bottle if non toxic use Plastic or metal Sides don't mind - mesh is nice tap or no tap Thanks
  9. On a large job we get one person who keeps the saws touched up all the time alongside all the other jobs such as re-fuelling etc. Agree about perfecting your sharpening skills - once learnt, never forgotten We plan never to let saws get dull - very cost effective and have spare saws onsite so no downtime. A forestry cutter with 30yrs experience taught me and tapped all the cutters. Used to use a rigid back Stihl guide - but all freehand now using a Stihl heavy duty log vice on the job. Use every millimetre on every chain. Bought an Oregon chain breaker and rivet spinner at 100ish each and coils of chain. Never looked back. Good luck.
  10. Could anyone advise where I can get 3 arctic loads each of 52 IBC crates and the likely price? I can send an Arctic to collect.
  11. I tend to avoid recognising Christmas until December starts. Then kindly daughter preps the present requirement for the other 1/2, 90% through amazon and an hour and half in local town - all sorted. Start the festivities about a week or so before the big day and plan to avoid being busy during the last week before. Christmas is what you make it - do different things, break the routine, take a break and spread it out. Those with no children - things are going to be different of course. Chrismas means different things to different people. Don't forget the workers. I intend to have the best time with my family that I can!
  12. Could you PM any contacts you have for IBC's? Can send an arctic up for 52. Thanks
  13. It is a standard insulated container, with 300mm of additional insulated cladding in addition. 15 x 30 panels. H stat. to control vent fans when internal reaches pre-determined RH level Looking at 10-14 days to lower MC from 50-60 to 20-25. Do you think that is achievable?
  14. Agreed, as December one of the worst months. You will generate an average of approx 1.95 kWh per day (24 hr period) per m3 of panel in the UK. (Based on average Solar thermal efficiency of 75%) So a 2.5Kw panel can generate 4.88 Kw per day. Anyone care to comment?
  15. How many panels should I be looking at for a 20ft hi-cube container - thinking around 12? Not entirely sure how they are rated per panel.
  16. I'm not surprised. I found it difficult to make the figures stack up, as high price per panel for low KW/h output, multiplied up for a 20ft container requiring 12 panels. Several years to break even. Possibly why I have seen knowone else with similar setup. Of course I may be missing something elementary, which is a shame as I like the whole principle.
  17. Ah thanks - over 45KW no then. Using an MCS guy makes sense, providing he/she has the knowledge/experience. Perhaps meet up with a few local installers and test the water. Did they do the Accreditation admin. for you?
  18. Do you still have to use MCS - as it is commercial?
  19. What make and size of boiler did you buy in the end? I have heard good reports on those dedicated sawdust burners, especially with the quantities you are producing. I know a few who add a few buckets in their batch boilers on RHI each time they re-fuel, seems to work well if you are sensible with quantity added,
  20. Generous of you to share. As solar is practically fully automated appeals to me and using the sun is the greatest benefit! Is it a major hurdle getting the Accreditation for RHI having installed it yourself? Also any good Solar Tube and ancillary suppliers you could recommend? Much appreciated.
  21. Been busy - Thanks for the reply John. Yes, solar tubes give enhanced RHI return, which is why I cannot fathom why more aren't adopting your installation - possibly because few have solar drying operational. I am not sure if everyone grasps the concept that the RHI is what makes Solar very attractive and setup cost minimal compared with a chip boiler. I am finding it hard to crunch the numbers when calculating the tube requirement for a 40ft insulated container. Any pointers would be appreciated.
  22. Solar drying looks an attractive proposition , as you can claim the RHI throughout the summer months. Getting the insulated setup correct is more complex. Not sure if RENEWABLE JOHN ever got the time to commission his plans? Has anyone experience of this concept on the Forum? Any guidance would be much appreciated.
