  1. We often overlook where the chipper has to be on a trailer to get the ideal nose weight for towing. To me, that Black TW is too far forward - too much weight in front of the trailer wheels - to be be balanced.
  2. Dan, Tom Balmer at Balmers GM in Burnley has a 7yo ex Environment Agency unit going. I doubt that this did much work in its life. Shall I txt you his number?
  3. Jase just told me that it is not a Kubota! Sorry....
  4. Go to any kubota dealer, groundcare, digger or tractor. They will have them on the shelf at half decent price!
  5. Good used Eco TMP units are as rare as hen's teeth! Andy told me that you were looking to change....
  6. Looks like that may be an issue with the positive feed into the fuse box under the bonnet. The AA chap has seen 4 recently and the garage has done 2 recently. Corrosion in the contacts, melting the plastic box etc or just an intermittent loss of power etc. An hours labour and circa £110 for a new box, plus the inconvenience!
  7. Turns 3 and done 103k soon. Getting bored by it tbh......
  8. Well bugger me. Gone outside to go to the garage and it won't work! AA called....
  9. Four times recently, my Ranger has switched itself off in straight and level flight, twice recently there has been nothing on the key when I've gone to start it - 30 mins later, it started no bother! Its in the garage today - any bets that the battery or alternator is found to be faulty when they both tested 100% by the AA?
  10. I reckon Harry Bavin at B&B Tree Specialists in Lincoln have this.
  11. If you could care to call me on 07774 282481, I’ll try to help going forward.
  12. No Stuart, that isn't the case. The Evo165 was designed as a heavier than 750kg unit built with the 1505 in mind and with a heavy rotor and strong infeed on a suitable chassis that could also handle a bigger engine.
  13. I am toeing the party line and have my own view too. Change is always a difficult thing for folk to accept, especially if is foisted on them by officialdom. I'm of that generation that automatically puts on a seat belt - even in the back seat, but my parents would have kicked back against having to wear a seat belt as a law if it wasn't for Mother going through the screen of a Beetle in the mid 60's! Yes, you could cut the seal and wind up the rpm limit, change the pulleys to get the correct rotor speed and away you go. True, the little 1505 has been a reliable lump but cutting the seal will void warranty and some would say that the environment needs protecting for the future and we have been instructed to do our bit!
  14. You cannot get the 35hp Kubota 1505 engine Tier 5 compliant. To get under the radar, it has to be under 25hp and to do that, it is run with a lower max rpm range. Hence the different noise and less power. We use the same in our Evo 165 and we both use the 37hp Vanguard petrol too. In theory you could break the seal and wind up the engine rpm to pre Tier 5 settings and swap pulleys/belts but it would absolutely void any warranty and possibly lead to litigation as you have jeopardised Kubotas status as a tier 5 supplier and they may strangle the supply of engines going forwards! I got lambasted last time this subject came up but I have to stand by the official line and also point out that these changes are in place for a better environment and we should all embrace these changes for the benefits of future generations....
  15. I had our 165 petrol out the other day. I didnt really like petrol units but been converted for the most part. Itdidwell!
  16. I got sent to the shop for a yard of fallopian tubing, and I went..... I was sent to get a pint of pidgeons milk......yes, I went....
  17. Have you took to a rebuild place? I got an old ball starter in my Rover V8 and had that rewound locally. There are still a few 'fixers' about.
  18. John, try giving Lineside a ring to see if Stuart can help. They are Nottingham based.
  19. If buying new, consider what your nearest supplier can sell you. If you need help, you ain't got as far to go!
  20. By and large, chipper blades are reasonable enough from the original suppliers, keep them standard and maintain the chain of responsibilities. Only my opinion for what it is worth.
  21. Ordinary tracks have a size moulded into them. Akin to a tyre size regarding length, width and pitch. There are plenty of ordinary track suppliers but you may be back to red band not far from my house!
  22. Was going to suggest the same, hire a standard tipper of any size and agree a time frame with your supplier. Suggest that if they are late, they might like to cover the hire?
  23. Same with any chipper, sharp blades are essential. Blade to anvil gap is crucial and a reasonable edge on the anvil matters too. You wouldn't use a blunt chainsaw, slipping clutch or knackered bar would you! Why skimp on chipper maintenence? Add to that, you are towing a fully loaded trailer with a chipper, dont skimp maintenence there too!
  24. Asked never to return to that big hotel, The Harbour, The Harbour Inn asked that we behave in future and the Shipwrights escorted us from the place, The Harling Inn is another place i don't want to be recognised at and The Trevose Golf club flat was truly memorable too! Fun times at The Cornwall Show!
  25. Few bits I keep in the garage for the hot rod.
