  1. Are you guys talking about the FOS?
  2. Climbing big trees can be easier than doing loads of ground work. 50 is still young, I know a full time gardener who is 76, I'm not kidding he does a full season of lawn maintenaince no problem. If he can do that I dont see why you cant climb trees into your 50s.
  3. TW150 - 90 hours.
  4. Does anyone have a full list of the arb insurance companies, I'm currently with Camberford Law but want to look around for a few more quotes when I renew next month. Lycetts (formerly Algarve) Bryant and Kesick Trust ???? anymore
  5. Its not that small in reality, the pic was taken with a wide angle lens. So it makes the rollers look smaller than the are.
  6. Ok! Ok! Roller!!! Jesus! the hours of the chipper are 620 The winner is A Lopa the Aussie. You Brits should be ashamed of yourself, beaten by an Aussie.
  7. Only when Mike has had a guess.
  8. I've been to Slovenia's neighbour Croatia, Dubrovnik in fact, the weather was mediterranean, it feels like your in Italy. Everyone looks really healthy, well the women do anyway. It'd probably do us flabby Brits the world of good to work in Slovenia. Just think - brown rice and veg for dinner everyday. You'd end up looking like Bruce Lee after 6 months. With this kind of scenery I'd work for 5 euros an hour. What a stunning country. I'm just sorry I cant go. Lake Bled in Slovenia
  9. He's got about 10 albums out, if you like 'Two' you should buy 'Easy Tiger' album and the previous album which is better, 'Cold Roses' which features the song below. I've seen him live a few times here in Glasgow, if you get the chance - go see him with his band, very good live. 10. Is anyone else having problems with TB?
  11. I dont know why, but there is something cool about that little chipper in a old Renault van kinda way. Its like the old Renault van, but instead of delivering french bread sticks it chips them.
  12. Is this a 70s throwback or the Balamory woodchipper?
  13. Yeah, done that many times as well, but there where no trees at the top of the embankment. Its always satisfying coming up with these little problem solvers. Makes work enjoyable in a Fred Dibnah way.
  14. It lives off many different species of trees, mainly decidous hardwoods - ash, beech, lime with the odd smattering of Pinus sylvestris, Cuprocyparis leylandii and Vermiliflora ganjantavis
  15. Its 6 years old. Not that that's much of a clue. It has not being painted or touched up since new. Only started when a pile is ready for it.
  16. The pieces we were winching up were about 300kgs max, add a drag factor and your looking at about 500kgs. The wood was Yew, about the strongest yew can get.
  17. I'm gonna wait for the chipper experts/dealers to give their guesses then I'll reveal the correct answer to all of you. Good identification work on the Jensen.
  18. From looking at the paint wear on the hopper how many hours do you think this chipper has done?
  19. This is just a little trick we use for getting heavy pieces of timber up steep slopes. Its a basic A frame which helps keep the winch rope from digging in to the ground as you winch the pieces up the slope over the top. Its just a choked sling with pulley and a tie strap attached to a heavy log to stop the A frame falling forward.
  20. Nope, I hire one.
  21. Roller, farmers are famous for their tightwaddedness. Your definatley gettin a good deal.
  22. Bogie, whats that curved bar on your saw for?
  23. Thanks, This looks like a better chipper, but why do thy make the feed hopper so small and narrow?
  24. I agree, thats why the tests have to be carried out by someone like me, I'm working daily at the sharp end of treework - If any dealers want to send me free stuff to review pm me. I would particularly like to review a 12 inch Jensen turntable chipper, Husky 385xp, Kolibri Harness, Yale Bull rope, ISC pulleys, Petzl Ball locks (at least 8). Winch for a Nissan D22 pickup, Unimog with PTO chipper. The new Nissan Cabstar Tipper and well....just send me stuff and I'll review it for you. I'll do the reviews/testing with you Jamie.
