  4. Nice website by the way Mike:thumbup:, looks very nice, how easy is it to use one and how expensive are the machines ? Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  5. Not at the moment, but I have done. Once you have cut them into a blank it need sealing straight away with pva glue or paraffin wax, I usual leave it for 6mths at least and give it a rough turn on the lathe if still to wet I'll bag it with wood shavings and come back to it later. Doing it this way gives me about a 85-90% success rate. I'm buying it in at the moment due to the amount I'm doing but prices are not far off from doing it yourself, I'm also thinking about investing in a small kiln but need to research more first.
  6. Anyone ? Looks like I'll stick to doing it by hand Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  7. Between £30 and £50 each, sometimes more. I've had a few people try it on so I pointed them towards pound land and the charity shops
  8. I've been asked to engrave a few memorial plaques, house numbers etc etc. I was wondering what machines people use, other than doing it by hand which is what I've been doing. I've looked on the Trend website at the letter and number template you can get for the router, anyone used one?? any good??. What would you recommend? Thanks in advance, Ian

  15. At the moment I get about 3 hrs kip, can't seem to switch off. If I do get more that that I feel rough and wake up with a headache . Never use to be like this, use to sleep between 7 & 8 hrs. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  16. Try here a long list of them to learn and read Arbtalk.co.uk | Discussion Forum for Arborists Knots Guide
  17. Very nice , how long did it take??
  18. Heavy duty I would go for makita, I have a Bosch one at the moment that I use for me boards, I have given it a lot of stick so far and it's still going well there only about £80. It also depends if it's going to be a one off sand as well.
  19. I would sand it , take off bark as it will fall off anyway then wax or oil. Wax might be more expensive as you will use more of it, but both will give very good results. The key is in the sanding. Or a clear based lacquer and spray it on, but I haven't done much so can't comment on which lacquer it best to use. Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
  20. nice wwork there Sent from my HTC using tapatalk 2
