  8. What are you meant to do when the woopie(in our case) is too small? i just used slings as well as but i have the feeling that isn't the correct way of doing it.
  9. Ha Ha Ha. when i clicking on this thread you can't actually see the picture, i couldn't believe what i was hearing. Very funny!
  10. Nice pic's. What a view ah! best bit of our job
  11. I don't think we'll ever know thats the way things are these days we don't know about half the stuff that goes on it's so easy for them to cover things up.
  12. I think someone should come up with female designed clothing for climbing. For one not one pair of my chainsaw/climbing trousers fit even though they are all the smallest size available and i can't wear braces as lets just say it doesn't work, belts are uncomfortable with harness. Two if i wear a sports bra it collects shavings and is very iterating, and i will not wear normal bra's as they are a health risk/hazard.Not going to say anymore about that!!
  13. I suppose that could be prob but sometimes it would happen within couple of min's. I'm not that unfit!
  14. I've always had visor and ear defenders never really tried ear plugs. I get sick of getting stuff in my eyes but i find whenever i climb with glasses on they steam up does anyone else get this problem??
  15. Exactly if someone tries it and likes it I'd get one but thats what they all say and usually it's either water proof or breathable not both. I've found any jacket that is actually water proof gets ripped too easily in this job.

    teamwork!

Too right. Couple of weeks ago i was in our local shop in my work gear and a guy behind me starting asking me questions about sharpening chainsaws and maintenance as he had just been to buy his first chainsaw from B&Q. I told him where Honey Brothers was and told him to get some PPE. Most of the time it's makes me cringe when i see unexperienced people using saws but he wrote all the info a gave him down and seemed to take on my advice.

    teamwork!

LOL, bout right. Different world out there. I must admit I've seen worse in this country, some people don't even realize the danger they put them self in.
  18. Thats really good for first time, I'd love to have the time to get into carving. I wish i could get in contact with someone who did carving in my area. We have some much good quality timber stood at our yard. If i knew someone who would like it, i wouldn't feel so bad. What wood is beat for carving? We've got lots of oak?
  19. It's true about the conditioner, we wash ours once week. Also wash at low temp depending on trousers my first pair Stihl shrunk.
  20. Who did that monolith in the close up pic's? I think it's great in the right place. If a tree has to come down as it is in decline or has Basal problems and its on edge of woodland but close to public footpath or road it's much better to take it down to a safe height and leave as monolith for habitat than leave timber lying on the ground. Standing deadwood is so good for wildlife.
  21. We are based in the Guildford area, we are looking for a groundie full time, tickets aren't essential, but must be enthusiastic and willing to work hard to progress. Part time contract climber needed from time to time, references required. If you are interested PM me or email:[email protected] to discuss this further. Anna
