  8. Spliceing is something which people should be encouraged to understand how it is done and to be able to do themselves this would leed to more knowledge about rope your hanging from. Is more certification the way forward when a splice is stronger and safer than a knot.More concerning is the lack of knowledge of wot rope is suitable for certain situations. Some factory splices are of a very pore quality in my opionon.
  9. dynema in a friction hitch? NO
  10. the amount of rope being worn with tenex is a high percentage of its stength. A double braid even when the cover is worn still retains a high percentage of its stength because of the core, hope that makes sence.
  11. tenex is not realy suitable as your friction hitch in a climbing system and there are plenty of cords avalible designed for that purpose, Pete is wright in my opinion.

  13. for double braid wire fids are best imo easly maid from piano wire
  14. from my understanding of the revised rules on red deisel and tractors ,the problem is for tree surgery use you will have to run a tractor on white it will have to be taxed and run as an hgv, if you tow a trailer thats class1. I hope i am wrong! I would realy be interested how other people are going to deal with this.
  15. Skyhuck how much was your trailer without crane, just bolster and sides? Does it have oil brakes so you can use it behind a tractor? Hope you dont mind me asking, loveley rig.
