  1. It's good to notice the little things, when you notice them, you notice more of them.
  2. Agreed, you're looking at less than a quid a day for an accountant for a self employed sole trader.
  3. I've noticed larger than usual leaves on the regrowth from poor/ill advised pruning cuts. I think stress does play a part.
  4. No, they make the gags.
  5. Depending on the type of contract you have with companies and the status of your business, you can claim milage as an expense from HMRC. I'd recommend getting a decent accountant. For just over a quid a day you don't have to worry about what you could/should be claiming.
  6. Once or twice. The Sauds are the gift that keeps on giving, 9-11, ISIS, abuse of human rights and the systematic destabalisation of the ME.
  7. Ha ha. On a lighter note, it is canny amazing the things the Saudi's get away with. They got the last batch of weapons for next to nothing. You'd think we were after their oil or something.
  8. He was quite SHOUTY, I think he may have taken the chance to lower his blood pressure a little. Knew/knows his stuff, no doubt, when it came to forestry. Possibly shouldn't have got too involved in political threads.
  9. Ain't it. My old man was knocked off his bike. When he came to in hospital the copper asked 'What speed were you doing, bearing in mind it was a 30mph limit?'...
  10. There's so many variables. I agree, making sure you can always descend in a hurry is a good idea. It might be that you've got to get down from the tree sharpish to help with an incident on the ground. Ive never had to carry out a rescue in real life. I reckon that without an access line, you've little chance of getting up there in a hurry.
  11. A few years back when I had a stint with an LA contractor, they'd practice AR every six weeks or so. It was a box ticking exercise. Most accidents happen at the branch tips, If you can't get out there sharp, you/they are in trouble.
  12. I've done loads of solo tree work. Just be extra careful. If you're not happy subbing to someone who has no competent rescue climbers, then just don't do it. In an ideal world you'd have a trained climber ready to go.
  13. Mate, they're all arseholes. Unless Bernie Sanders makes it, we're all doomed.
  14. You see Ti, I don't think it is. Everyone knows that politicians are a bunch of shitehawks. It's just that Trump has the audacity to not even pretend that we're being taken for mugs. Next level fuckery.
  15. Aye, at least Clinton tried to deny it. Trump's a melt, a shambolic version of a human and a terrible president.
  16. My mate's in this band, I think they're mint. Daytoner.
  17. Spam cannon.
  18. You should ask the promoters of the show. 18y+ would be a good idea. I reckon that the majority of people through the gate will know how to use a saw
  19. Have a word with Jez or Mark at Ancestor Leathercrafts. https://en-gb.facebook.com/AncestorLeathercrafts/
  20. Or glitter.
  21. Choose your battles. Accept that there's some scum out there. Protect your kit as best you can. Don't go to jail over a chainsaw.
  22. The beech is in the middle of nearby woods, it's one of my favourite trees. The other one is on a hedgerow ash in the other direction. Hungry fungi.
  23. That's bolivian marching powder in action. Not the moves of a person who's been drinking all night.
  24. I think that 'Stonemouth' is the best of his fiction. He only wrote fiction in the first place to finance his sci-fi writing. 'The State of the Art', is an amazing book. If you're into that kind of thing.
