  1. Whatever floats your boat. I don't have six kids so I'm not that arsed.
  2. U OK hun?
  3. Bless. I didn't vote for them either.
  4. I didn't get that far through their blurb as they don't really have a great deal to offer me. As I said: "Pro-marriage and pro-life are usually associated with religious beliefs." That's all.
  5. Five mins search on the internet about a party I'd never heard of: Scottish election 2021: Family Party propose council tax cuts for parents WWW.BBC.CO.UK The Scottish Family Party is standing for the Holyrood elections on a pro-marriage, pro-life platform. Pro-marriage and pro-life are usually associated with religious beliefs. " And Mr Lucas - a former physics teacher - was formally investigated by the General Teaching Council for Scotland after criticising the "fatherless" pregnancy of former Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson in an online video, in which he said there were "problems associated with same-sex parenthood". He was accused of using offensive language which would lead parents to conclude he was "intolerant of and prejudiced against same sex parents" - but the GTCS said the allegation was not proved and ruled that he could stay on the register of teachers. Mr Lucas said afterwards that "the expression of socially conservative views, in line with traditional religious teachings, should never endanger someone's career". "
  6. They sound a bit too religious for my liking; if religion is your thing then I can see why you might go for it.
  7. The red bark suggests Scots pine, the other likely suspect is Corsican pine: Corsican pine - Forestry and Land Scotland FORESTRYANDLAND.GOV.SCOT Learn how to spot a Corsican pine tree and discover some of its uses and history.
  8. Perhaps Brexit was hijacked and used as an opportunity for the super rich to prevent their finances being investigated and that 'Project Fear' was a real warning. We seem to have far less 'control' than we used to have.
  9. Ask Mr Bullman, he knows this site better than anyone else.
  10. We're simple folk, set your stall out in full and we'll look at and maybe buy the shiny things. The way you approach a dataset should be in a fashion that will yield the most valuable results.
  11. I've been paying more attention to ivy lately when out and about. All I see is that it is taking advantage of dysfunctional trees, the ivy cover on healthy trees seems to be the same as it ever was. I think that a longer growing season brought about by climate change might well cause ivy to grow more prolifically, it might cause trees to grow at an increased rate too. I'd be interested to read any research proposal you have in mind.
  12. In areas of high occupancy I will specify that ivy needs to be removed before I'll inspect a tree.
  13. I've had the pleasure of looking after this maniac for a few days:
  14. There may be small print to consider but the large text seems to explain things.
  15. I don't think it is breaching their copyright if you attribute the image to them: Brand Resource Center | Products and Services - Geo Guidelines ABOUT.GOOGLE
  16. It's getting much better, all those grey military planes that have been buzzing about have been generating good images. I think the imagery in Google Earth and the Pro version is from the same source, the Pro version offers more functionality.
  17. Rwanda asylum seekers: UK government criticised over 'cruel' plan WWW.BBC.CO.UK Some of those arriving on small boats will be sent to the country as part of a £120m trial. If someone from Rwanda was claiming asylum in the UK, would he be sent back? Answer is no, covered in the treaty, supposedly... They wheel out the favourable, right-wing stuff just before local elections on May 5th in order to throw a bone at the people who thought Boris was a saviour but now rightly think that they've been betrayed by the gov. They'll soon send Boris into oblivion for his shitehawk behaviour, and then continue to piss on us and tell us it's raining.
  18. Download Google Earth Pro from here: https://www.google.com/earth/download/gep/agree.html?hl=en-GB. Google Earth WWW.GOOGLE.COM Google Earth lets you fly anywhere on Earth to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain and 3D buildings, from galaxies in... Zoom into the site location, go to File menu, then Print, select A3 from the top drop-down menu at the top of the page. Write on and stick white stickers to the map to annotate boundaries/field names/specs etc. You can also save the current screenshot so that you can open the image as a pdf and annotate it that way but stickers will do the job.
  19. Depending on how well you know your way around a computer: 1) Download QGIS: Welcome to the QGIS project! WWW.QGIS.ORG 2) Spend some time reading/watching online tutorials that explain how to do what you want to do with QGIS and OS OpenData. 3) Download the OS OpenData map you require, 'Zoomstack' is up to 1:10,000 scale: OS Open Zoomstack | OS Tools & Support WWW.ORDNANCESURVEY.CO.UK Support for OS Open Zoomstack including frequently-asked questions, user guide, release note and other useful... OS Data Hub OSDATAHUB.OS.UK 4) If you wanted to you could export the area you need as a geo-referenced 'DXF' file, which can be handy. All the above is free.
  20. That explanation has given me a whole new appreciation of the word 'Temper'. Cheers.
  21. That's exactly what I meant, cheers Stubby, I've watched too much 'Forged in Fire' and think I know the terminology.
  22. I don't know much about her and hopefully she has some integrity. My dog is in different political league to those two. Did you hear that Lord Lebvedev has a dog called 'Boris'?
  23. Perhaps she has spied a route to the top table. I pretty much ignored the rules too, the BIG issue is that the UK is meant to be ruled by law. If the law makers don't follow their own rules, why and how can they expect to enforce other laws? It could set a dangerous precedent. One rule for them and all that? Feck that.
  24. You should email her and suggest it. Do you reckon she'd be popular in England as the PM?
  25. I think you'll find that most arborists will hand sharpen their own saws. Bench grinders can be useful on bigger, knackered chains, you have to be careful though as you can temper the cutter with the grinding stone which means you can no longer hand sharpen with files. You could look into landscapers as a source of custom but there's a very real chance that you'll end up with some mullered chains to work with, if you get any at all. Saying that, it may end up being a worthwhile investment if supply-chain issues continue, most arbs I know have fair few knackered chain loops and might end up revisiting them. What else do you sharpen? If you can do chipper blades you might be able to pitch the chain sharpening to those clients. Good luck whatever you decide to do.
