  2. Rest assured amigo, Arbor Aeration only use's man made fertilizer, under certain circumstances, and never on trees such as MonkeyD's pear, we aerated and nothing more...... Please note folks 'Arbor Aeration' very rarely uses synthetic ferts, choosing, aeration, mulch, and natural organic slow release ferts, tree health care is a long road chaps and i'm only just out of the garden gate........

  6. I'm sure at some stage we can sort out where members are, and maybe in time as the forum grows, we could even have regional forum pages, of course thats down to Steve...........
  7. Hire a MEWP you'll get the job done quicker and safer.................. yeh yeh i'm a moderator I should know better winding the thread up .................
  8. Limb de-lamination is more of a concern than internal decay..........
  9. Annual assessments! I've never heard of anyone undertaking inspections that regularly, and to be honest if they were carrying out annual inspections I'd be doubting there competence! Damage! Air-spades , Soil-picks, Air-knives IMO cause very little damage to fibrous roots, other than exposing roots and the roots becoming dehydrated if left uncovered for any amount of time, this kind of damage is down to operator incompetence, not the air-spade! Ha as for NPTC jumping on the bandwagon, if I'm ever asked to produce an NPTC cert for Air-spading , I'll give the person concerned a dose of Air-spade where the sun doesn't shine!
  10. OK folks I'm organizing a Christmas Arbtalk visit to Kew, followed by a few ales and a spot of lunch in the nearest pub... Could those that want to come along please post there names on the thread, this will give me an idea of numbers, just so I can inform Kew.. Meeting time will be 9.30 ish, and the date will be Saturday the 13th December, we will meet at the MAIN GATE..................... Main Gate Nearest entrance to Kew Bridge station (national rail for service to and from Waterloo) and Kew Pier river-boat stop. The Main Gate is on Kew Green (391 or 65 buses). About 120m from the gate inside the gardens is the White Peaks shop as well as the catering facilities at White Peaks and the nearby Orangery, with toilets nearby Spouses, partners, girlfriends , boyfriends are all welcome.... 12. Sorry to hear about this Pete, i've got a few saws etc down here i'd be happy to lend you, i'd be offended if you needed them and wouldn't take me up on my offer....
  13. OK let me rephrase that , too much instant nitrogen , for trees IMO, I do however agree with Chris on composted wood chip, far better IMO, as for blood fish and bone only in moderation again my opinion, far better to use just bone meal..........
  14. Why not just knock on the door and ask the owner if you can take a look, they might be very grateful, never be scared to open your mouth, you never know........... If you do by chance take a look at the tree, we will need , needle colour, needles on the tree that is, soil type, and obviously some idea of the amount of compaction..
  15. could also be a POS
  16. Compaction will be a factor thats for sure..
  17. I aerated a Ceder a few months back, i'll be going back next summer to check it out, with this tree a Cedrus Libani, various branches were dieing back, I suspect aphids, the root zone was very waterlogged, hence the aeration...
