  1. Never ever go back on a price unless you have a very justifiable reason for doing so... The customer will react in one of two ways...they'll question why you didn't offer them that price in the first place at think you are trying to rip them off. Secondly next time right when your snowed under with work they'll still expect the cheap rate. Discounting rarely works well in a service industry IMO. What about the clients that would rather pay alittle extra for your quality work over the cheapest quote ? It will send them the wrong message, not everyone wants the cheapest quote. I used to phone around checking if people had recieved there quotes ok that brings the matter back to their attention and can often result in booking the job
  2. This is the A38 at Burton-upon-Trent at 07:30 doesn't look to impressive but we had about 1" of snow in 20 minutes lol. Traffic mayhem insued.
  3. Friggin nippy here, was -3 in Burton this morning when i was looking at a job. Icy hasn't left the courtyard all day today and the fires have been struggling to keep me warm lol

    heinz 57?

Staffy body and staffy ears but very long legged maybe crossed with a whippet / greyhound. Staffies aren't good at running for long periods of time they don't have the aerobic ability. Be carefull not to over exercise him !!
  8. Or we do bark, http://www.ahsrecycling.co.uk

  13. Yep found an FC apprasial of one, result = good kit 21k !!
  14. Yes they all look very good, this small kit is so damn expensive though ! I could buy a 8t forwarder for what these outfits cost new !!
  15. Very impressed with what i've seen and read of these today, great cross country ability. Just waiting to see how much they cost !! http://www.alstor.se/engdata.html
  16. You'd think they'd form line and throw two at a time to each other. Much faster and they could still get out of bed in the am LMAO
  17. I think the problem with domestic tree surgery ecspecially at the moment is if you turn up and look at a Beech tree with merip on it, and 30-40% crown die back the client is NOT going to pay for further exploratory works when 8 out of 10 arborists that have quoted have condemed it on the spot. It makes you look like your trying to extract further money from the client. Wrong I know but that's the reality out there. I felled lots of trees in my contracting business that maybe had more life left in them and i also spent alot of time working with a wildlife trust to retain infected trees for as long as possible.
  18. Lol no worries, very nice truck Ed will get all hot under the collar when he see that latter
  19. Magic mate magic Go to their website, find your truck, right click on the picture and choose 'save as'. Then upload the pics to here from your computer. You could right click and nick them from here now though
  20. This one by any chance ? A very nice truck
  21. Hi... I need a contractor with a small alpine type tractor and forwarding trailer for a small job in Staffordshire. It MAY be possible to do it with a 4wd quad and logging arch but you'd have to still be competitive over a tractor, it would take longer with an atv. Hand felling of small scots pine is available as well. PM or E-mail me if your interested. Ta matt.
  22. MFI gone under, Woolworths in recivership and DSG Retail (PC World and Curry's) asking for a 1bn goverment handout I'd say we are in the **** ! Firms i've been speaking to are struggling but i agree with Iain alot of it is media driven hype forcing people not to spend. I can't blame them though with so much uncertainty.
