  3. dont say that it is a nightmare round here where there is an artsit who paints dead trees ffs have seen a pink a purple and two white so far http://www.bbc.co.uk/essex/content/image_galleries/spooky_tree_gallery.shtml
  4. did he by just lowering kit ? as stated by edenarb lowering kit every 12months and as again im sure has been stated as long as when purchased they should have recieved a certificate of conformity(usually within the receipt) and that covers the first initial period of testing requirements and as mentioned .BUT it would have had to be all LOLER'ed marked with id tags so that a written record of daily checks could be carried out ...
  5. all i did was add .jpg to the end of your previous link but that brought up so i just viewed your gallery on photobucket and saw that one and thought that must be it so if you edit your first post and swap the link you have got and use the insert picture button above ( ) and then in the box add this link http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w68/treebogan/IMGP0284.jpg that will show up the proper pic. i will or if steve would then delete my posts (once the pic has been sorted ) so that this topic refreshes back to what it should be about would be greatly appreciated....
  6. but apparently not seatbelt warning lights hunting trip pictures also included and the real version of santa
  7. also if you are at a point that you think i cant go any further .take a breather and compse yourself then re assess the situation you will be amazed at how many times you can go that little bit further ... kleimeist is what i use and yes it can bind sometimes but if i feel im going to be in a situation that reqires a quick adjustment ( ie limb walking back into the tree ) before i begin my retrace i just loosen it off slightly so that it doesn't require too much effort . but yes as said it all comes with practice and you canbe sure that all if not nearly all ( those who say they didn't are people who also never admit to masturbation) have been at the stage you are in where its just your minds natural reaction to say nnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooo stop what do you think you are doing trusting your life to that flimsy bit of rope and walking out on that branch that is gaurenteed to snap if you go any further good luck with it
  8. if he still cant manage it in one go try and arrange a payment system ( so much a month ) BUT get it in writing with signatures ..... saves the hassle of court etc... and include a clause that any outstanding/missed payments by ten days will incurr intrest at 3 or 4 % above base rate
  9. firstly sorry to hear and send my best wishes on please.hope for a full recovery. secondly with regards to part quoted above .... was he cutting a stem with another leaning on it ? or do you mean a stem that was leaning? not sure how it managed to fall on him unless he was doing something really silly like being under the fall direction ( even if it had split he must have been aware of its progress) and i agree with 112 and also a scheme that is used around this area ( possibly others ) is the I.C.E ( In Case of Emergency) number on your mobile phone this is a number that you would like called ( your wife/partner/parents etc ) in the event of an emergency so that they can be informed asap without the normal hassle of trying to find peoples numbers and it is a scheme that the emergency services have used with great effect in single person accidents to gain information about the casulty ( diabetic ,etc etc )
  10. machine mart /screw fix or try your local car spares/factors ... no need to go mad on price just buy a decent one what you can afford
  11. biggest mistake most people make on a transit is to not use a torque wrench on the rear whhel nuts ... overtightening them using a bar or air wrench warps the drums so when you apply the brakes it feels like the arse end is vibrating loose or the pedal pulses and yep torque wrenchhappy here ( must be the years of vec mechs in me lol )
  12. two versions of it basically : dont call me a c**t please , c**T's are useful and im not or i would call you a c**t but c**t's have their uses

  15. other thing i hate is when you get the blame for something that is not your fault other day i was splitting/cutting logs whilst one of the bosses reversed into the chipper drawbar and smashed the lights on the tranny but seeing he had his radio on so loud he did not even hear it happening and i was a good fifty foot away (plus he didn't even notice the chipper slewing one way ) so shouted at him to stop and he got out and looked lots of swearing etc other day other boss saw the lights and asked what happened and i said what did and i got bollocked for not watching him back ??????????
  16. hmmmmmmmmmm cough cough co cable tv ugh cough many a time in w london 6 inches below the surface my arse . .... come across a hv think it was 33kv 11 inches below surface but thankfully i had the knowledge that there was a substation next to the tree so demanded that elec board dug around the stump ( hand dug through pavement ) before i even contemplated grinding it and lo behold there was a nasty awaiting me trapped in the roots 11 inches down ( was a tree that was next to the one in tree pics ( london plane) that i reduced) thankfully it was my last day in that company so i didnt have to do it lol nearest i have come to a major survice was grinding a private job having a new driveway paved company not got cat scan so i asked the pavers if they come across anything when they had dug up the old drive no nothing so i proceeded to grind it out ( was only a 4 inch acer) and as i was grinding i saw a flash of yellow exposed as i swept the grinder over the last of the bowl so swung machine out of hole and stopped it examined the yellow and was the gas supply to the house and i had shaved about a millimetre off the pipe anyway back to topic sorry
