1. Infowars, fake news, sad.
2. Thanks. They are using a crossbow to get an access line into the trees, Big Shot poles are a little difficult to carry on a bike, they've had to weight the bolt with lead shot as its way too light and flys over the trees.
3. Two friends of mine doing this excellent thing for a cancer charity in August, please click on the link have a read and give something if you can, thanks! https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Phil-and-Simon?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=fundraisingpage&utm_content=Phil-and-Simon&utm_campaign=pfp-share
4. There is another way to do it without undoing the braids.
5. Fixing a nose guard to a saw is clearly the idea of the moronic, chainsaws are dangerous that's just a fact and i believe they have enough safety features if used correctly.
6. I think they may have made up their minds already and are hoping for data to back them up. One handing a saw is a factor to injury, I've seen it happen, very experienced climber, kick back to chest, not pretty. Work positioning is key to help prevent incidents. Fatigue is a factor. Rushing on badly priced work. Finally, accidents happen no matter how experienced, you can never legistate for the random.
7. 16 strand Tommy, no cross over. I actually find 16 strand pretty easy to do, you just need to keep everything nice and neat and smooth, first form the eye and get that right with the help of a mallet if needs be, when it comes to pulling the cover past the core make sure you pass the fid through on on side of the inner core, make sure the fid is moving freely before attempting to pull the cover through, if need be pull some extra cover from the knotted end to give you tad more room, cut a small amount of the cover threads then fold the over the fid keeping the shorter ends trapped by the longer threads, this will form a neater taper to pull through the rope. Ok so now for the good trick, as you pull the cover through between cover and core at the same time pull the core that you have previously removed from the rope this helps massively in getting the core and cover to slide past each over. I can do this splice just using hands and feet, i dont tie it off at all. Ah i forgot to add, make sure the very tip of your fid is slightly bent, then you can feel the fid against the inside of the cover and this helps not to catch any inner strands.
8. Ive spliced it, its got a very tight cover so not the easiest.
9. I use Samson instructions for 16 strand, getting the cross over right can be tricky, what I do is smooth out the splice from the eye and from the knotted end, I mark the cover and core then I pull the core then the cover as far as I can, the core and cover should be cut so the lengths match, then I cut the cover and core at the marks and then taper them at roughly 45% then smooth the cover and core back into the rope. It can be a tricky splice to get right and I can still cock it up sometimes.
10.
Yes will post.

11. Yes mate, remove the inner three strand core to make it easier, its the same colour as the second core which makes it a little tricky to extract.
12. £190 now!
13. Its still a complete saw, just in bits and we all know that its a sought after saw and worth strong money once rebuilt.
14. I dont think so.

16. From ISC. Some people here need to take note of the second paragraph. Just saying. Rope Wrench in Germany-We are liaising with German Authorities over some of their claims and we hope to have a CE Marked Rope Wrench to introduce to the market within the next two weeks. CE Marking, in itself, does not infer that the product is safe or is not safe. The Rope Wrench System has been proven fit for purpose and its approval (in 2014) for use in ISA Competition, confirms that.
17. Well according to the manufacturer its not for life support. Some others think its one part of a "system" and as such requires a CE mark.
18. History is, my friend was given the saw seized, I rebuilt it and my friend seized it again top and bottom, wrong mix and maybe a possible air leak, new parts, piston, spare carb comes with the saw plus replacement crank etc, saw is complete but in bits, needs building, pressure test etc. Friend has had a bad accident a few months ago at work and could use the cash.
19. Matty, my friend has decided to sell his saw by auction, he picked it up today, ill post the link once its up.
20. sugihara make a bar that also fits so I've been told.
21. Testing to a certain standard, tracability and safety, safety being at the top of the list.
22. Vortex? There is no hope in hell i'd get my Vortex in the Akimbo.
23. Youll have to flee to Spain.
24. Mod the saw, more power, more speed, less likely to happen.
25. Nose sprocket? I run a modded 150 and have noticed the nose sprocket to be pretty poor.
