1. Awesome gent, and good of you to see him again thanks for posting this up. Makes us truly grateful for our good health.
2. When you say it's like a Land Rover..... Is that a good thing? In something that leaves the ground???
3. I don't know, Les sorts this out.
4. Donation made, all the best.
5. Yes Tony, tomorrow and Saturday
6. Well it seems the current holders are out of the question, I'm invalided out of the action, have to see if we can rustle up some teams on the day Les
7. Looking good Justin, forecast looking favourable too. Looking forward to the break from work now, it's too hot and I'm knackered!! See everyone there, come and chuck an axe for charity!!
8. I have googled this for further information, to help others decide in supporting this charity. What is Hirschsprung disease (HD)? Hirschsprung* disease (HD) is a disease of the large intestine that causes severe constipation or intestinal obstruction. Constipation means stool moves through the intestines slower than usual. Bowel movements occur less often than normal and stools are difficult to pass. Some children with HD can’t pass stool at all, which can result in the complete blockage of the intestines, a condition called intestinal obstruction. People with HD are born with it and are usually diagnosed when they are infants. Less severe cases are sometimes diagnosed when a child is older. An HD diagnosis in an adult is rare. Issues with the bowel are often not discussed, leading to ignorance and misinformation, so highlighting such a good cause can only help us all to understand.
9. Slept like a baby, no storms til just after 6am. Heavy rain and storms now though.
10.
Not to my knowledge, and the fact you can send me a message proves it!!

11. Just for the record, Stihl UK have merely been brought into line with Stihl Europe, we were the last European market to be apart of it. It must work over there?
12. Just out of interest, how many of you are really that concerned, concerned enough at the Arb show to put your points of view to the Stihl reps there? I think there was a couple, out of the gate of 2000ish. Hardly a visible protest is it? Will Stihl listen to the ramblings of a people on a forum, hiding behind usernames that guarantee them anonymity? I doubt it. If people are really bothered, write to Stihl in your capacity as a professional business, or approach them at the numerous shows. But most wont, because they cant be bothered.
13. I enjoy the benefits of online sales as much as the next person, so can hardly be accused of burying my head in the sand? But, this is not an impossible situation, I can work with it, out of necessity. We bemoan the fact that we are losing our high street stores, the little shops that made up our towns and even our villages. Why should we also lose the very businesses that support our livelihoods? by this I dont mean Stihl, I mean the saw shops/dealers, some of whom have been in existence for 20 or 30 years, the guys who when you call in at 4.57pm will stay and get the saw fixed for you, can you do that online? Is this really short-sighted, or is the total dependence on on-line availability equally short-sighted?
14. Do you really think Stihl, or any other main brand, really cares what a very small fraction of their purchasers (or former purchasers) think? Their market is far larger than just us, and the majority of their customers will not be affected by this change of policy.
15. Ive read this thread from beginning to this point. How many of you only use one saw? How many of you are really that dependent on the immediacy of next day delivery? Every time? I run several saws, split 50/50 Stihl/Husky. For my own convenience, I make up a shopping list before I go to the dealer, if files are running low, I buy boxes of each, I buy and carry spare "wear" items that are most likely to need replacement. I cant cater for everything, and I dont, but if the worst happens and say the 357 goes out of action, I have enough kit to carry on until its fixed. I was "anti" this policy from the beginning, but in all fairness, it has not affected me on iota, just plan ahead, keep spares by you, its how it was back in the day, when you couldnt ring the dealer til the end of the day cos you didnt have a mobile then. Do I think its a short-sighted policy... I think we will see more and more go out to protect their network of dealerships against the internet invasion, do we really wish to see our local friendly dealer disappear off the street like the butchers, fishmongers and candlestick makers. I dont. PS, the internet was great while it lasted, I loved the convenience of it, but times change, sometimes not as we would like to see it.
16. One thing that no one has mentioned, is spares availability for any repairs. A friend of mine has a large Ifor, and in the course of working it hard over the years various parts have required fixing or replacing. Off the shelf replacement parts are readily available, pop into local Agroco dealer and jobs a good un. May of us expect to just back up and hitch on, without ever really maintaining a trailer properly, so reliable spares backup is IMO very important.
17. Did you use boiled linseed or raw linseed oil? Does it make a difference? I've used boiled linseed in the past with no issues, and chippies I know treating outdoor oak beams don't have a problem.
18. That's a good idea, nothing worse than a load of kit chucked in a corner waiting to go to the shop.
19. Blimey, it's come around quick!! Looking forward to seeing everyone again this year on the axe throwing, or around the show!! See you there.
20. I think you've summed it up well Mick, oop t'North they used to reckon they were made of tougher stuff, failing to see it these days. They are nearer the North Pole, we are nearer the Equator, I bet the sun only came out from behind a cloud and scares them!!
21. You're such a drama queen Pete, it's a bit warm that's all. Old age is making you soft. oh yeah and man up.
22. Thank you Silky. Lessons learned by all, lets move on. Life's too short, summers here, barby season is upon us, soon be the weekend and beer o'clock!!
23. I think this thread does demonstrate something very important. That is, if an employer does not wish to have photos or other information about his business spread across the Internet then that request/condition of employment should be obeyed. The consequences can be serious, summary dismissal for the employee concerned, and in the case of this forum, potential threat of legal action. As moderators, we have to take this seriously, and deal with it. I'm sure in Paul's case, it's all very innocent, but the company concerned were still aggrieved, and some sort of action had to be taken. We can move on now, Paul removed the offending pictures, but overstepped the mark by altering Johns posts, even Mods don't take advantage of their position in such a manner. As mods, we do not pick on any individual, we deal with the content of the posts in order to maintain a forum that is inoffensive, clean and a pleasant place to visit. Lets all work together to keep that up.
24. I'm required to wear a support belt for other reasons than to protect my back. I have neoprene ones with Velcro and they are the hottest most uncomfortable things I've ever had to wear in my life. I don't have a problem with the Velcro undoing itself, however I move, but I do get annoyed with them rucking up and the rucks getting uncomfy. I get them on prescription, so they don't cost me anything, and they do a good job of protecting me....except when I left it off the other day...stupid hurts!!
25. Good to see you posting Lee
