  1. IMO anyone whose going out and doing an honest days work is doing the right thing.....most of the time we as climbers dont choose the spec, nor even get to talk to the clients.....but we take what we are given and work to the given specs within the best of our ability...you can do even the crappest spec work and still take pride in your job and bring money home to support your family.....thats doing the right thing
  2. it was a tad breezy for sure, but it actually helped swing those pieces round. i have some video of that somewhere
  3. ive never really found much of an issue with climbing poplars.....so long as the dentral anchor point is reasonable upright i'll anchor pretty high, obviously not as high as something more sturdy. i find it very easy wood to cut and manipulate and often dont need to get as far on the ends anyway because of this.
  4. doesnt matter how much you trust the person, they only need a hornet in the cab and its end of story... i have used vehicles but its far from ideal......tracked chipper is ideal, but failing that a pulley block or other system should be used.
  5. i bet the prussik didnt bind up in the wet like it did on multiplat though?
  6. what would you suggest be done with it if not felled mb?
  7. i missed out on 3 strand, had multiplat.....not sure if it was an improvement or not really!!
  8. they're not stupid eh, they know the first thing we do is pull up on site and take a walk round the customers back garden.....i always leave a man with the truck but in this case, grinding, i expect you were alone. sorry to hear mate.

  12. did you get a new brushcutter aswell? that will burn your small one out in no time.
  13. we'd be kicked off site for climbing in non protective boots in this country....plus its illegal........or if not illegal it certainly would void any insurance claim resulting from use. i have a pair of scarpa pro-ascent for rec climbing and comp climbing, they are a nice boot
