  1. I had matadors fitted to my old LDV and they definately make a world of difference. Have AT2's on my pickup which also make all the difference. Yes its a 4wd model but probably used the 4wd a hand full of times.
  2. Illegal tree felling in England to be punishable with jail and uncapped fines | Trees and forests | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Exclusive: Forestry Act 1967 to change from 1 January to deter people from flattening trees and accepting paltry penalties
  3. If you have a suitable place for tree surgeons to tip in your drive then you might want to try adding yourself to the tip site directory for a chance of some wood. https://arbtalk.co.uk/recycling/
  4. Yeah what Mick said. They won't accept the liability of letting you cut it up yourself.

  6. 2 sides to this. If you get the job done by 2 because you worked your arse off, have a top team and are just super efficient, then you’re billy big balls. If you got done at 2 because you put a stupidly high price in for what the job was worth then you’re probably a bit of a rogue
  7. Well? Do we have to wait till next year or what?
  8. Things like bark will always bring in poor quality leads unfortunately other choice is google ads but they are getting more costly by the day and will only get worse during the recession. Improving your own website will bring in better quality lease over time, but it’s not a quick fix if you are desperate for work now
  9. I’m just fine (as far as I know) and thank you for your concern. Her indoors on the other hand, let’s just say I’m expecting to have to drive imminently 😀
  10. I tried at the start. Even paid a stack of money to a police initiative called secured by design which turned out to be a total waste of money.
  11. No its not linked to immobilise and im not really convinced if they'd be particularly interested in a linkup. I did contact them at the time of setting this up. In general the interest level seemed low. Also this police force seemed to be unaware of anything at all. I sent them a message regarding arbsafe which they initially responded to, but not to my subsequent message requesting a phone call to discuss opportunities. Seems the limit to their proactiveness was posting on social media which was disapointing.
  12. If the small amount of people who have submitted the poll is a reflection on the wider audience then its clear i need to put more energy into promoting it, but obviously being a free service I don't have the marketing budget for it at this time. Gets tiresome repeatedly posting about it here and on social media. I stupidly thought it was going to be easy to push with the amount of thefts that are rife in the industry.
  13. Thanks for the feedback Mark, Yes there are a few updates that need doing to the site for sure, but as its not really been doing anything in terms of traffic I haven't done any further development. I will get that looked at. Regarding the amount of items stolen, I think its likely that a lot of the people who registered had already had the items stolen and joined specifically to list them
  14. capstans are good but if you are going to be using different groundsmen on the regular, id definetly recommend the rc 2001, its basically fool proof
  15. Same to you! It’s a very dry festive period for me this year unfortunately. To make it worse I received about 10 bottles of wine for Christmas that are just staring at me!
  16. That’s a good question. Can’t say I see much posted on Facebook either. I don’t do Instagram, perhaps some hang out there
  17. Is there a specific section you need translated? If you stick up a screenshot
  18. Do you have any experience with other manufacturers such as Husqvarna or Echo? I know its already been mentioned that the newer autotune saws register the owners name. Also as a dealer, whats your opinion of Arbsafe?
  19. I believe they are supposed to, but this hinges on the vendor actually doing so. I expect this falls down a bit with online sales, or with lesser brands that aren't subject to quite the same rules the bigger companies impose on their dealers. Thats speculation though. Either way, with Arbsafe you are taking the responsibility into your own hands.
  20. I suspect thefts are only going to get much worse in the coming years. For all the complaints about the police force the fact remains they do recover quite large hauls of stolen equipment from time to time.
  21. Back in 2014 I developed the Arbsafe stolen equipment register. This was the first of its kind that I am aware of that specifically targeted equipment in our industry, and to this date is still the only register that I am aware of. Despite it being free it proved nearly impossible to get wide scale adoption and as a result it has been sitting quietly in the background doing nothing. A recent post on Facebook by a local police force saw them comment that they were unaware of a database for stolen chainsaws, which I find quite astonishing. 'Stolen chainsaw database' brings up Arbsafe at the top of google, so I can only assume they didn't bother looking. I am considering either having one last big push on this or just putting it to bed for good, so would like some feedback as to why you think people are hesitant to register their gear. A quick outline of how Arbsafe works: Registration is free Equipment is listed in your user account and remains private on a secure server If you have any equipment stolen you can log in to your account and mark it as stolen Once marked as stolen the one item (or more) become publicly searchable I understand this was never going to change the world, but security is all about adding layers, and this is one more layer to add. Unlike nearly all other layers you could choose to add, this one is 100% free. The idea is that people purchasing stolen equipment can search the database prior to purchasing a piece of second hand equipment, that is if they have a mind to. Beyond that though, over the past 8 years the site has been live, I have been approached on a number of occasions by police forces looking to reunite kit with its rightful owners. Most of this kit has still had the serial numbers intact, however no means of identifying who it belongs to. Had the kit being listed on Arbsafe, it would have been reunited with its owner, instead it was likely sold off at auction, or who knows what. Please take your time to answer the poll or reply to the topic, thanks! Home :: Arbsafe ARBSAFE.CO.UK
  22. Yeah, its not difficult at all, its just different to the simplicity that the younger generation have become accustomed to and a lot simply dont take a moment to learn it. One guy on facebook was once complaining that the tip site directory was too hard to find. Theres a flipping icon right at the top of mobile view, not sure how much simpler I can make it 😁
