  1. did you sell this to the customer or was it something they had seen and asked for?
  2. thanks dagmar...i wonder if theres any more recent study on this, beings as that paper is 16-17 years old? good find all the same though. in your work do you come across many fruit trees with variegated leaves and is the fruit production as high?
  3. sounds cool.....and in theory it should draw big crowds, will be interesting to see if it does or not
  4. they're not uncommon to find, you'd probably want to go to more of a tool hardware shop than the likes of b&q though. i think i saw some teng stuff in halfords once come to think of it
  5. im hoping the competition section to this forum will be expanded on next year....unfortunately the forum didnt start till just before the last uk comp of the year so there hasnt been much coverage. hopefully next year will be a different story, and maybe we'll see some fresh faces from arbtalk giving it a shot!
  6. good article colin, i must confess i only just made the time to read it. i think a lot of people would benefit from going to the climbing comps.....i see a lot of attitude displayed such as "oh thats all very well but i bet they couldnt do the job for real". wether thats true or not is irrelevant as thats not what its about. ive competed once myself and intend to compete again just for the ongoing education and the challenge.
  7. i went for a health day today and had the same prob.....craving chocolote energy about 3pm didnt have none though......settled for carrot sticks...luckily i was only stump grinding
  8. I have asked this question in the past but never had a definitive answer. do varigated leaves and purple leaves etc which have their clorophyll masked by various other pigments suffer any ill health because of it? It would seem, at least to me that the photosynthesis wouldnt be as efficient. I know some trees ie copper beech seem more succeptible to disease and ill health that common beech....how much of this is due to the above question?
  9. welcome Inztrees...sorry if i sometimes miss people out!!!
  10. all are welcome! thanks for joining!
  11. welcome mate.....least you'll have plenty time to read up on all the latest techniques here!
  12. im gradually changing all my tools to teng piece by piece....havent got round to their screwdrivers yet but i have no reason to doubt they will be any less quality than all their other tools
  13. nice work Tim......would have approached it the same myself.....i rarely rig off unless its the only option anyway
  14. its just a better design, does the same job only that little bit smoother
  15. the best pic will be chosen simple as that....the judges wont be aware of each persons experience
  16. wont necessarily be a climber who wins anyway......a groundsman could just as easily take a pic of a climber at work and win
  17. no i have the standard one, might go for the swivel when i upgrade
  18. its always annoying how simple some things are when you eventually hear about them and wonder why you hadnt thought of it yourself!!
