I am yet to try one, but I have only heard good things about the Sugihara bars that Rob D is peddling. As soon as I wear one of my bars out, I'll be ordering one.

I've always preferred Oregon Pro-lite to Husky bars. They wear better, don't need greasing at the nose, and usually cost a fiver less ;) But I do like the look of them Sugi-Hara bars...nice an shiney :D

Been Oregon on most when the Husys wear out . Had a couple of long GB titaniums that ere good . Going Sugi - Hara on the short bars as soon as Rob sends them, .

Can someone explain to me how a guide bar can be "Good" or "Better" than another.

Surely if the chain runs round it's fit for purpose. On the very rare occasion one of my guide bars lets go I just go to the shop and get another, usually Oregon I think.

What I'm asking is how does this improvement manifest itself?

Not looking to argue (For a change!) Just curious.
