Waterproofing ya boots!

Got around to waterproofing my Tirol Fighters today but it seems the old faithful Nikwax is now no longer available.

There is a new cream version and also many other brands of wax. Some water based, some conditioners etc etc.

So what do you all think is the best out there now?

Carrier bag over your foot, then put your boot on. Dry feet all day But they get cold still and you look abit of an arse! lol

I wasn't sure about the new waterproof cream from Nikwax either; but after using it on both work and walking boots I'm well impressed.

Boots don't even need to be dry when it's applied.

Just buy Hiax, then you will never need to touch them.

If the boots are leather, dubbin. Make sure they're fairly clean, rub at least 3 generous coats on and leave them by the fire for half hour between coats first time round. Does the leather loads of good and nice and cheap to. I do mine every 4 - 6 weeks or so, even in summer to condition them.

i have used the new nikwax cream stuff and it works really well, the best stuff i have used in the past is mars oil for horse saddles - really soaks into the leather and smells great too imo.

waterproof boots? ive been out in my steins all day, dry as a bone!

I use Alt-Berg Leder-Gris Original it's easily the best, but is only suitable for leather. Might try the "extreme" stuff over winter too.
