A guy I know prefers lime over any other Wood for his miniature model buildings, he reckons the grain looks like more like oak than oak does when it's done to scale. So yeah I guess so.

As above. Excellent carving with edge tools or saws. Carved some last week at Bowood. Takes detail well, with a good finish. Non Durable in natural form, so preserve or seal well and mount clear of the ground if using outside. :)

I have carved some lime its very soft like horse chestnut and like everbody else said doesnt last outside but as Sreve said have a look at grinling gibbons his stuff is something else
