Hi

I've just got a Sugi pro light 25" for my 460, I have a brand new 84dl chain but it doesn't fit, just too small. Any ideas why?

The bar might be wider than the original. 84dl is correct for the Stihl bar.

It shouldn't be a big deal for your local shop to pop an extra link in for you.

Aye Joe they said they'd make another so that's good. It's just a tad confusing why it's like it, on fr jones site for that bar it says 84dl too! I have a 7 rim on so that should be correct. I have a 20" Sugi bar and the chains are right for that at 72dl!?

Yea , What I meant was I know 84 is correct for a 24" Husky so assumed it might be a few more for a Stihl 25"

Stihl and Husky confuse the issue a little because the 24" Husky is the same length as equivalent 25" Stihl - they just like to call it different lengths! But bars are same length and take same chain.

What drive rim/sprocket are you using?- possibly it is an 8 pin and this may mean another drive link for the Sugi bar....

Apologies for vid angles.

Really with a new set up on an 8 pin you need an 85 drive link chain.

I will come clean and say I did not know that Rob ! Always used a Husqvarna in that size and took it that the Stihl was longer by an inch . Every day is a school day as they say ! Oh by the way op says he is on a standard 7 pin .

Yes a MS661 with 28 bar runs a 92 Drive links on 8 pin rather than the standard 91
