Lowther show is an excellent day out.

 

We use to go nearly every year when i was younger. My dad used to enter the fly casting competitions.

 

My mother nearly got ran over one year by the Duke of Edinburgh in his racing buggy/carridge.

Kelso racecourse

 

Iam sure they do a bit of haggis racing there too, after dark usually

Hawick museum is run by council and free. Has exhibits on Jim guthrie and ian "hizzy" hislop the bike racers.

Dundee has the discovery. The wooden ship that was used for South Pole adventures.

Botanic gardens at Peebles port Logan and benmore, some impressive trees😀

Some day i would like to climb the biggest trees in kyloe woods.

Kielder is worth a visit Darrin, so is Cragside at Rothbury.

Yep getting eaten as I type !!

Cragside .... Does any body have a location for the UK's tallest Scott's pine there ?

I would spend a good deal of time sitting on Allen-mouth beach Darrin or in the river mouth casting at sea trout!
