OK, an allegory.

A ship has several holes in it and is in danger of sinking, do you try and plug the holes in turn or jump in the lifeboat?

Oh, sorry, there's no lifeboats.

That's a pointless argument, JohnsonD doesn't understand that sometimes you have to show leadership on a world stage. Someone has to be the one who leads the way and is the best that they can be. JohnsonDs arguments have always been feck the future, let the UK match the worst case, we'll all be dead anyway when it goes wrong in 35 to 50 years, Grandkids can deal with it.

Noting that in the case of China and the numbers might be biased due to sheer population size, but they have the most green electricity production, they lead the way in solar panel production at a cost that UK manufacturers cannot profitably match (yet), and is on a par % wise with the UK for green electricity production (about 45%) (or they are just ahead). So maybe we should compare ourselves to China on second thoughts, they appear to be doing as well as the UK and look set to get ahead.

Just checking back, the discussion was about energy production and not genocide wasn't it. So throwing in random rubbish and abuse. The lack of any sort of discussion on the topic infers the poster above is making a valid point that you cannot counter and that you do not have a valid point to make.

You mentioned the Chinese SP not me.
Can you tell us all how many coal fired power stations the Chinese are building and currently have, for once try and answer a question. I’ve news for you being the dumbest prick in the room doesn’t make you special or a leader it makes you the “ dumbest prick in the room” you and fools like you would have the UK on its knees ( we are very nearly a deindustrialised nation sadly) to deal with a 1% contribution to global emissions. Thankfully along with that trans woke shite we might hopefully be seeing a return to pragmatic common sense solutions.

You sure about that?

"You need to get those Chinese told eh "

As above, 2 things to reiterate, JonsonDs default is to sink to the lowest possible, to compete at the bottom of the rung instead of striving to be the best, and the response that is just basically an insult laden pile of drivel shows no ability to discuss any point.

I think (just today) you’ve called another member a fool, a dumb prick and a liar.

I think this is a fairly standard day for you.

You’re not debating, you’re just getting off on insulting people.

You may well be right but literally shackling ourselves to destructive deadlines when the technology doesn’t yet meet the rhetoric or ideology is not a wise decision, it will not make us world leaders in anything other than just like now with the cost of energy.

I agree with the deadlines but on the other hand you need to force the tech or it wont move forward. Unless there is another space race or something.

I think you are probably right but , I don't think they are particularly " green " . The mining of the lithium then transporting it across the globe in stonking great ship is a massive carbon foot print . Then there is the pollution from the rubber they get through ( being heavier than the equivalent petrol/diesel car ) then the disposal of spent batteries all adds up . Hydrogen is the way to go I recon . The only thing that comes out of the exhaust is H2O . I am talking about liquid hydrogen direct into the tank not a hydrogen powered electric . I believe Toyota and some others have an engine that will run on hydrogen in a similar way to petrol .

I dont about about how green it is as there are probably a million and one factors, EV no transporting of fuel from the drilling to the petrol station etc.

Not true at all as well you know the dumbest prick in the room was a generalisation in regards the UK going headlong down the foolish net zero route at all costs, you shouldn’t let your animosity get the better of you. The liar comment in regards SP is a 100% factual statement.

There’s enough factual evidence around and anyone with a set of eyes living here can see the damage this lunacy is causing.

How can you be the best when you have nothing which is exactly the route the UK is going. That’s not leadership it’s dumb arse stupidity.
No need to preach to the masses if you reply to a post SP.
