Making the news today....

Anyway, in the news today apparently Simone Biles is pretty good at this sport? I don't really follow the Olympics, but this was bloody impressive:

She had a bit of a stumble upon landing which lost her some points, but I believe one judge said that "as long as she lands somewhere inside the building, she will have the highest score."

Strong stuff.

Bro, do you have someone there to show you how to post links instead of a screenshot?

I can get my 79 year old mother to talk you through it if you find the technology challenging 👍

Just while I am waiting for the carrots to cook (late dinner today). 'Screen shots' via MS Paint. Simples.

NEWS.SKY.COM

Police said two children were killed and nine others were injured along with two adults who were...

Army officer stabbed in Kent, riots in Leeds, attacks on police officers in Manchester Airport, now this tragedy. There’s a lot of as yet unconfirmed stuff doing the rounds that it’s yet another example of horrific behaviour that is becoming all to common.

Inappropriate.

I know almost anything goes on this thread, but there's a line, however distant it seems at times. Trying to make political capital from a tragedy like this, so quickly, crosses that line in my opinion. Very poor judgement Dave.

Don’t you dare judge me 42, not ever. Absolute and utter rubbish. This is not something you can brush under  the carpet. There’s a lot more I could have put up but I’ll wait for 100% confirmation before I do. I’m a father of 6 and can’t begin to imagine what those parents are going through. It’s not poor judgement it’s a fact of life here in the UK sadly. Let it go and let’s see what information comes out tomorrow.

Bit late for that, after all the disgusting things you say sometimes, what with being a morally reprehensible human being. You do not have the opportunity to clutch your pearls I'm afraid.

Anyway, regardless of race, gender, faith or cult, I think we can all agree that the kind of psychopath who'll do this sort of thing (and sadly, they grow in every strata of society, in every corner of the globe) should go straight over the side of the boat, and the sharks can decide on the most appropriate punishment.

Stick to watching girls Gymnastics. You have voiced your support on many occasions for mass immigration. There’s no one here has the right to judge anyone so don’t even try to occupy the moral high ground. If and it’s a big if the information going around turns out to be true then those politicians and people who welcome the regular illegal entry should hang there head in shame.
Your unusual to say the least silence on the Army officer stabbing and the Muslims attacking the police in Manchester Airport was indicative of where you stand.

There you go, getting all weird again. Straight to the gutter with you. Rolling around in the fag ends and the pigeon droppings.

Look, I know this isn't strictly covid-related, but do you think you could leave any further messages over in the covid thread?

Like... for ever?

Anyway, here's a cool photo from the Olympics. Gabriel Medina can, apparently, fly, after surfing a near perfect wave. Photo by Jerome Brouillet.

Which gets me to wondering, is this on the Atlantic, or is there a wave pool available for the surfing events? How long has surfing been in the Olympics?

I'll tell you what is worthy of outrage... I heard discussion on the radio recently about "e-sports" being allowed into the Olympics one day... computer games. I know it's big business these days, with significant international championships held all the time... but at the Olympics? Really?

I’m not going to go down this well worn futile boring path with you again today peds, definitely not on this topic. Make the best of your day, sadly two kids and the families won’t have the same opportunity.

It's obvious immigrants are the reason we need to destroy the countryside to make way for more housing, this is far worse a problem than a few of them who become violent killers.

Yes it's heartbreaking for the victims families, and gets tribal/racial feelings going, but to have the whole country clogged up with sevices overloaded is far worse.

Anyway, Labour are here for years, no amount of typing text will do anything about it. The vigilantes arent going to forcibly deport a few hundred thousand people each and every year, until the population levels off.

A managed decline in GDP, population and if necessary to achieve the second even living standards, would be my choice. Fewer people and a smaller public purse.
