Caught this earlier. What a sad state of affairs.

NEWS.SKY.COM

Members of the indigenous Mashco Piro tribe are pictured emerging from their remote rainforest home in the Peruvian Amazon in search of food - with loggers set to begin work in...

Yep, I saw that too. Sad indeed. Poor people have been living there in harmony with the world around them for god knows how many thousands of years and then we show up with bulldozers, chainsaws and guns to rape and pillage it all. If the bullets don't get them then the deseases probably will.

The current prison system, lack of funding for the police, and the barristers on strike shenanigans is plainly down to the last government.

Nobody said that it hadn't been going on for a long time. In fact do you really think that when my mate went to that DCI she was going off one recent report?

Choose a different soapbox.

Aye and you've been rimming them since you got on here.

You don't know what you're on about re: grooming gangs, so give it a rest.

Ok so you are now the resident arbtalk grooming gang expert eh 👍we shall all shut up and bow to your superior knowledge wherever you obtained it. I never claimed to know the ins and outs Mark I just as you admitted pointed out how long it had been going on for.

Quite frankly I’d rather not know the sordid details and the extent that the victims were failed by successive governments and police forces. As for the tories don’t talk crap Mark I have been massively critical of them the last few years as well you know in particular during the covid farce. I do think Labour will be worse but 🤷‍♂️that’s just my opinion. You certainly wont stop me expressing it any time soon I can promise you that. My sister who now is up at Acklington for HMP, incidentally she wont swap to the serco deal, has been involved throughout the system with some grim stuff but won’t discuss any of it out of work and rightly so.

Watching Lammy being called out very surprisingly by the BBC and Naga Munchetty this morning over his previous comments pretty much blew any pretext of competence and integrity for him right out the water. He’s a true politician, getting a straight answer out of him was near on impossible. The Labour claims of not knowing how bad things were are turning out to be a pack of lies, OBR has stated Labour had full access to the “ books” . I get the feeling the 15% who voted for Labour might find out soon enough, just as  the actual Labour Party will that criticising a government is easier than actually governing. The honeymoon period is probably going to be a short one.

I guess in a working life there are a lot of people we wouldn't socialise with, agree with their views but if the job demands we work with them then professionalism kicks in. Very possible to dislike someones views and work with them.
