Or... as a nation we can be held to ransom by the more unstable but oil rich countries as the oil runs out in the next 30 years or so. Sorry to say but in a society the needs of 60 million outweigh the needs of 1.

What a wanker you are eh SP, There’s more than just me being trodden on by a huge plc as well you know. The profits being made are astronomical but fools like you are blinded by it. SSEN are more than welcome to give me full market value. Let’s see what the shareholders say to that though eh.
Oil won’t run out in 30 years, just more BS. Where do you live SP or is that a big secret too. SSEN are carrying out environmental vandalism in the  NE of Scotland on an industrial scale hidden behind a net zero smokescreen and lies. That’s what it’s about “ profit”  The new announcement by Labour will have these companies rubbing their hands together as anyone with any knowledge of the industry knows they can put them up in areas of outstanding beauty at a fraction of the cost compared to offshore. Funny how the rights of an individual don’t concern you all of a sudden.

Ignoring your insults -again- and noting that out of all the members the insults only come from 1 keyboard -again-

Even the most optimistic among us are realising that in this century the oil reserves will be run out, whether it is my opinion (based on reading) of about 30 years or the very optimistic of about 60 to 70 years.. that is probably within the lifetime of us, our children and their children. I am sure I have mentioned this before. At that point our descendants will popping over for a sandwich Sunday dinner and asking "Dad, you know when you realised the oil was going to run out on us, what did you do?". We can look to the future, look at our families and neighbours and accept something must be done to replace oils. Or we can whinge about it and stop all projects because it inconveniences a handful of people (in the greater scheme of things). You might be surprised, might not be surprised but my thoughts is that pulling together society is far greater than individual parts of it.

Nuclear power is an option - I am sure a bit of de ja vu here - but the way the UK is going I wouldn't be surprised if I only ever see Hinkley operating in my lifetime - there needs to be something else. So create the green energy, and you can only create it where nature supplies it - cannot ship wind or waves into London if they don't go there.

Profits from SSEN, and others, sound like a lot of money, but in sales and customers there are a lot of them too. Granted that this year they are generally more profitable than general UK companies.. however electricity pricing is kind of governed by OFGEN and the electricity companies don't have a lot of say in the price they pay for energy or the retail price. I believe that gas prices went up a lot in the last 18 months... the mark up on that and electricity generation went up proportionally and they made more profits than usual. Wind turbines and so on should make the costs cheaper to us... but the price paid is set by gas prices (I think that is government controlled). So, yes, large profits but I don't think it was down to them profiteering, external factors created them.

Right, back to your insults and usual debating abilities.

Your right

The  best I can come up with is your an obsessed sad liar  who lives for this crap, and is an expert on everything from Covid, immigration, farming, uk oil and gas reserves and electrical distribution.
You cannot debate with people who lie and make false accusations. That is a well established fact.

Everyone on the Forum watched the covid vaccine crap migrate from there to anywhere I post SP, you literally have made a total fool of yourself on a number of occasions trying to get one over me. Regards debating and the point above the covid vaccine debate degenerated into absolutely ludicrous unsubstantiated claims and lies thrown at me, none of which despite multiple requests any of you could ever support. Your obsession with me makes it impossible for you to look at what SSEN is doing up here” something you have zero local knowledge of” in any reasoned manner. There are approximately 60 properties affected on the stretch of line I mentioned and dozens of communities and villages etc trying to fight SSEN all over the NE. Yet you palm that off with comments about the inconvenience of 1 compared to 60 million. That’s just pure ignorance and stupidity quite frankly. You are ridiculing what in many cases will be a lifetimes work, sacrifice and effort to build a home up. You have said nothing about the actual noise on the clip or what it might be like to deal with that for nearly a year. Reason being is because it doesn’t affect you. SSEN have the political advantage ( bought or whatever) to do this but when you look at what they are doing up here it’s unbelievable they ever got planning permission. The profits in the whole dubious net zero climate change renewables game are off the scale and I very much doubt you will ever see much price drops more likely the shareholders will see increased dividends.

Try not to be such an arrogant prick SP and rather than backing a massively profitable company try and think about the little man.
Do you think if they offered to buy I’d not bloody move like !! Regardless of how much work I’ve put into the place. I’m lucky I as much as I go offshore or work away, the mrs and kids have to deal with that 24/7 and have done since last august.

To be honest, if you move into an energy rich area you can't really be surprised when an energy company comes and wants to harvest it. Not that it helps your situation, but it's the nature of the beast. At least you have the money to relocate.

Are you kidding Mark 🤷‍♂️

that has to be one of the stupidest statements you have ever made on here. So because according to you I can afford it I just take a huge hit financially move on and suck it up. House can’t be sold mark with that level of noise When I moved into that house  13 years ago there was no wind farms no 400kv lines etc and no indication there ever would be.

An utterly ridiculous comment. A good dose of that socialist greed and envy in that post it would seem.
Look at the post code ab53 Mark it’s a bloody rural farming area. Educate yourself ok, they are not harvesting anything from my area and it’s not energy rich. Honestly Mark I’m shocked at how stupid this comment is.
