You don’t see even a slight conflict of interest Mick seeing the current role her husband plays in government !!. It’s yet another loophole that is there for the benefit of a tiny few. Mind you there’s been a succession of governments that have been drawn in by Indian money for a long time now.

A bit, but it’s not exactly a gotcha is it?

No laws broken, no deception.

Nope not at all but it’s still surely at the minimum a conflict of interest. I’m no socialist in any way shape or form but quite frankly to hold the position he does whilst having a wife whom benefits from that nice little loophole is a joke.

That’s unfortunately the truth of the matter

Maybe so Andy but it’s an almighty piss take none-the less bud, especially as you know to your cost how joe average guy on the street whom tries to get on gets humped. Will her husband and family be benefiting from this 🤷‍♂️Absolutely yes. Sadly the covid hysteria induced free for all in regards spending has just given them the green light to tax people more and more. Unless of course you know a few cracking loopholes.

So, "self funding" but 2,400 jobs and 60 production companies at risk?

How can this be unless there is a wile lot of unneeded fat or cream about in that particular trough then!

P.S.

The arts should NOT be Government funded or subsidized, other than proper old-school museums.

I observed the "up themselves" self-congratulation and waste in "the arts" in  our LG sector, while there was zero funding for genuinely needed property maintenance or basic lawnmowers.

Yes Channel 4 is self funding, they buy/commission tv shows and films from independent media companies, if channel 4 was to go then these independent companies will lose a large chunk of their revenue, hence the anticipated loss of 2,400 jobs and 60 companies.

Life would be pretty dull without art: no music, no films, no painting, no photography, no architecture, no design...
Art enriches us all culturally, whether you like it or not.

There are almost too many anomalies and idiosyncrasies of British politics - and the unpredictable and illogical tendencies of the voter - to try to understand Mark...

How that complete bubbleheed has become a minister of government is genuinely unfathomable.

Even allocating her as the tart for the arts is truly baffling.

I find much of UK politics truly baffling.

Meh, I’ve heard all this before, I don’t doubt we’re on a runaway train heading for a huge wreck at some point though.

I predict a decimation to a few million survivors, eking out a subsistence living on radiated earth.

Another species, perhaps apes, to take over, wise Orangutangs, clever chimps and warlike gorillas living together with us as a wild animal raiding their crops.

Loincloths, there has to be loincloths of course..

Hes abit of putin lover/apologizer old chomsky.

Quote

While Chomsky has been a clear and much-needed critic of American imperialism over the last 50 years, his reluctance to recognize similarly imperialistic inclinations in Vladimir Putin’s Russia has been frustrating to many of his admirers.
