  • Excerpt from GOV UK
  •  those making these crossings are coming from safe countries, such as France, where they could have claimed asylum.
  • More recently, we have seen large numbers of people making these dangerous journeys who are from well-established safe countries, where it is clear they are not at risk of persecution.
  • these clearly are NOT seeking asylum, they come here because it's easy to exploit the system.
  • I don't see any other countries putting them in feckin' hotels, and giving the them the benefits they get here.

However the conversation has moved on since then - King Charles - good or bad?

Loose ends first blagger , you can’t be trusted SP to answer  questions therefore you don’t get to ask them , how many times have you been told that now 🤷‍♂️

He seems to have done a decent job since getting promoted.
He did say that, as King, he would steer clear of controversy, and so far has been as good as his word.

There was also confusion in the cockpit. In the voice recording, one of the pilots...

I would have thought that it shouldn't be that easy to just shut the fuel off manually! I know they have to if an engine catches fire but with modern tech the computer should go 'err what, no fires no alarms going off 100 feet above the ground and you want to shut the engines down.'

Suicide I guess as no terrorist organisation has claimed responsibility.

Tragic loss of life.

One of the pilots said why did you shut the fuel off and other said I didn't . Apparently not enough time to switch them back on before impact .

Water companies will use smart meters to increase prices in the summer, meaning customers will pay more during heatwaves.

Surge pricing trials are being introduced for customers with smart water meters at 15 companies across the country.

Under the pilot schemes, water costs either change depending on the time of year or become more expensive as customers use more.

Ofwat, the industry regulator, said that the trials, planned for the next five years, would increase prices “when water is scarce” and could potentially be extended to all customers.

The Government is backing a nationwide rollout of smart water meters in an attempt to reduce water consumption, which ministers believe could help prevent hosepipe bans and other water rationing.

Thanks.

I was looking for the actual evidence/links to the source but it looks like the telegraph isn't giving that info out. There's no way that they could just increase prices only due to a water shortage. Water shortage in this area, everyone's water costs are going up! Yeah.  It's just click bait imo.

bloody good job too,

I get a dozen calls a week wanting me to have a smart meter for electricity,

I don't need likewise for the water.

that said,, I wouldn't trust the bastards not to.
