Rather odd given that their infection rates are lower than many of the green countries.

Most of the world really doesn't seem to appreciate their approach to tackling covid.

I do agree its odd, but now you can rest assured its not a UK incompetence. :D

Perhaps even the EU is pissed as Sweden for not towing the party line and is punishing them?

Quite possibly.

As unpopular as Sweden is politically, it was remarkable how many Danes and Germans there were there last month :D

People desperate to escape the draconian and pointless laws implemented to save Grannie. Same in Stavanger, packed full of Germans and French when I was in town

I genuinely believe that if the people where given a referendum in each EU country the net contributors would all vote to leave and perhaps a few beneficiaries as well. The people (in my opinion) have become disillusioned with the EU dream and the reality of forced immigration has been devastating. People cant speak out though for fear of being labeled a racist.

I viewed a house at the same time as a German family that bought it there and then. It's nice for us as they'll be in the town too, and their boy is the same age as my older daughter. They cited the heavy handed lockdown as one of the main reasons for leaving Germany.

I'm not sure that the anti EU sentiment is as strong as you think. I don't know anyone in Germany who is for leaving. We do possibly inhabit different circles though.

You may well genuinely believe that, but I have heard no evidence of that here.

Wishful thinking on your part.

I do get that, hence my caveat. :D

They did wanna leave Germany though, one reason is cited as lock down. Surely no one will upsticks and move purely based on that. So I do wonder what the other real reason is?

I’m not anti Brexit, I’m just pointing out that you creating an alternative universe where the majority of net contributors would leave given the chance is reality only in your head.

Well, its a moot point until these countries have a referendum on it. Keep in mind the main reason the Tories allowed the UK a referendum vote was they where so sure the UK would vote remain. None of the Polls had the UK down for leaving.

All our views on this subject are empirical. As J pointed out we all move in very different circles, the very much international one I work in is clearly different than the one you move in in France. From my POV your reasoning the net contributors would not vote to leave is reality only in your head.
