I might be a bit biased on this one Wes.

I'll have a think about it and reply tomorrow when I haven't been to the pub.....

No probs it is why I asked, you have the inside view, biased or not it is probably the best view in this house for us to ask and to use as a base to start an opinion of our own on the subject.

My thoughts are the daily mail is for idiots.

No offence to you Wes but that rag gets right on my tits.Full of $hite

None taken i read a few, all apps nowadays, the content maybe skewed to suit an agenda but i though it would make a good topic for tonight as irrelevant of how it is written and by who the message is clear.

The one thing party conferences offer us is a chance to scrutinise.

@eggsarascal am I right in thinking you work/ed for united utilities or similar? What do you make of renationalising water?

I've just got to ask. Does anyone actually work for United Utilities? From what I'm told they're in the van with their feet on the dash, or stood around in gangs with clipboards peering down holes.:D :vroam:

You do realize it was the Tory scum under John Major who introduced it don't you Timon?...

I do realise. Reading up on them, I discovered they were also gladly adapted by Blair and Brown though, to hide debt from the balance sheet. no wonder they ran out of money.

Just for the record, I don't like everything the Tories do and I don't hate everything that Labour do.

Introduced it, undeniably.

But who do you the think it was that took it to the extreme?

"...The even uglier reality for Miliband is that the New Labour era was a golden age for the PFI. The modern PFI is the child of John Major’s Conservative government, but it was adopted and thrived under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. Between 1997 and 2008, 90 per cent of all hospital construction funding was under PFI agreements, which paid for 75 per cent of all hospitals built..."

We agree on that then, that both Labour and Tory are guilty of the same crime..

as to running out of money, had more to do with encouraging growth than anything Labour ever did in regards PFI. remember, grow your economy quicker than your debt and you're on a winner.. both Labour and Tory play the same game in that regards.. like musical chairs, its a matter of luck when the shit hits the fan in regards a downturn..

So to blame labour for mucking it up is a mater of bad luck in regards timing on their part, then again they had a long run so it was gonna happen on their watch at some point...

Do you think 90% of new builds would of been paid for in tax's or borrowing if the Tories were in power in that period?.. if not what your point?..
