magnetic business cards

Does anyone use magnetic business cards? A guy advised me that in my line of work where it can be months between making contact with a possible customer and them deciding to get the work done, ordinary cards get lost, whereas a magnetic card might stay stuck to the fridge long enough to get the call?

If you check out the wooden business cards thread on the sub forum above the off topic sub forum you will see the wooden business cards I offer at a discount to Arbtalk members. Many people who buy them put some double sided magmetic tape on the back of them so they can be stuck to fridges, computers and workshop machinery so they dont get lost.

I know a general handyman/roofer who has magnetic cards stuck on his van under a sign that says please take one so he can carry on working when up the ladder or on a roof

Can't say I stick magnetic business cards on my fridge, do you?, they get put in the box with all the others.

 

Maybe a post-it note saying 'milk, bread, collect shoes from cobblers', but not business cards.

They do in New Zealand, I assume other places as well. I think the novelty of it will give it more exposure duration.

How many catalogue them like you? I put them in my phone if interested, leave the card lying around it gets grubby then goes in The bin.

What on earth as what folk do in New Zealand got to do with what people in the UK do?

 

I don't catalogue them, they get put in a box on Mrs Egg's desk.

I can see a use for the fridge magnets but not in tree work, I have one the gas fitter left stuck to the boiler, and one from appliances direct on the side of the fridge.
