Two galvanized steel rods and one EHS steel cable, anchored with galvanized steel through bolts.

 

Cost about 750 bucks installed hereabout.

Fell, grind stump out and replant. 3 pay days and problem solved, win win. Or brace and pollard then get work to re pollard every 5-7 years Evan more wins as the tree remains as well.

Is that a footpath or garden path in pic 2?

 

Single tree in an otherwise barren landscape or 1 amongst many?

 

Unless desperate to retain, best be gone and start again.

 

 

Yes small path. It's the last tree in a row of twenty.

As a matter of interest, is that the only included Union. I've come across a couple of planes that had an above average number of weak unions and wonder if there's a variety that's more prone to them?

 

 

It's the only bad union in that tree , I'll check the other 19 in the near future
