I have been looking, for the last hour, on the net for the lightest and coolest chainsaw trousers type A but can't really decide what is what. I tried the Pfanner Gladiator ventilations at the Arb show (I really should have spent more time trying different trousers...) and they were ok but not a perfect fit. Anyone have experience wearing these or others in hot climates that they really rate?

Thanks,

Island

Hi island,

2 of us wear Advance X-TREEm by Stihl.

These really are very different from the X-fits we used to wear. They are only class 1 not 2. They have full vents on back and very light weight on rear, sum stretchy new stuff not the toughest when caught on Landy door latches but other than that and the silly zip tags coming off no issues. Very hard wearing on legs some tough ovals things on 6 way stretch. Was bit dubious but works well.

We haven't used in tropics but in Norway last summer in 30 were still bearable.

Cheers,

James.

Dose any one find the pfanners ride up a bit to much in the crotch area when you have them with braces? Other then that I like them don't really think you will find a cooler pair of trousers

Thanks for the replies.

I should specify that this would be for climbing in.

I am a 32 waist so don't want braces.

I currently have SIP progress type C which are holding up as well though have been patched up a fair few times and are now quite saggy.

I will never get Hiflex or Waipouas again.

What about the Husqvarna technicals + extreme?

Cheers!

I've got the type A arborist ones. They're well made. They're tighter on legs than the normal stretch airs. Still canny warm but I suppose that depends on yer legs.
