What the hells in bird poo?

Noticed a load of purple/browny colour bird muck over the Disco bonnet but was a bit slow to scrape/wash it off. 5 days later & theres several large, coin sized silver spots where the paint is down to ally. Glad I never bought that newer one.

Various acids and other chemicals. Birds can't help it, car owners can purchase covers.

I'm surprised to come on an aborists forum and actually be able to answer a question, considering I'm just looking for a couple of big slabs and know nothing about wood.

 

It's really acidic and whats usually left behind is known as 'etching' quite simply etched the top layer of your cars lacquer.

 

Are you sure its lifted the paint entirely, that would be pretty rare.

 

If its just etched it it should be polishable.

Seagull poo contains plenty of sand too. But amazing how many drivers try to clean it off without water.

If there Purple in the bird poo then its likely to be Starling poo and they just about eat any Shite so god only knows what they have eaten .
