I'm looking for a thicknesser ideally 13", I can only find Metabo DH330 Thicknesser at that size anyone used Metabo tools before, what are they like??

Was also looking at a dewalt dw735 13" but not available in the UK and import taxes would kill it.

If you can live with 12.5" then the DeWalt DW733 is a very good machine. Mine was bought secondhand, has taken a lot of punishment (I have worn out three sets of blades after sharpening down to the limit) and it is still going strong. If you occasionally need to go a bit wider then you can put a plate over the internal guides and go through twice on a setting, biasing it first to one side and then the other - I think the widest I have done is around 13.5".

Anyway you can show me what you mean, I have been looking at the Dewalt 733 also the Makita 2012nb. I'll be doing guitar bodies which is just under 13"

I have a three phase SGM with an 18 inch throat that I bought and don't really want if it's of any interest.

Sounds a beast of a machine, space is an issue for me too, plus portability to site.

It is entirely non-portable. I'm extracting it from a workshop tomorrow, so I'll report back.
