According to our one eyed painter George 2k paint is no longer available for vehicle spraying . Anyone that wants this paint now needs to remember if asked its for plant and machinery :sneaky2:.

Interesting, I was told I just needed a mask, not an air fed mask....I've had no ill affects whilst working like this so far though...what do you use Bob ?

If you read it again it doesn't say you need an air fed, only that you agree to the terms. The bit with the force of law, (such as it be) comes immediately before that paragraph.

I would never use 2K or cellulose paints, they are extremely nasty and there are much better alternatives available. A lot of body repair shops use water based paints now.

And wood finishers as well. Acrylic is the way forward.

For years I used synthetic paint but its not anywhere near as good or as tough as 2k. The drying time for the synthetic is way too slow and within the half hour or so it takes to tack off the world and all its insects will land in it. From what I can gather suppliers are off loading 2k cheap at the moment and are unlikely to keep stocks in the near future, it will probably become order only (expensive ) . From what I have been told the waterbased paints also take an age to harden so for the future at least painting gear or trucks will be have to be done in a dust free enviroment ( oven ). It may pay to stock up while you can Billy.
