Please can some one suggest , which size of chipper I need to hire for chipping Leylanddii up to 9" diameter. Asking for advice as I know nothing about wood chippers. Thanks in advance for any info.

Best to start from the other end and think about whats going to happen to the mountain of chips

What does your local hire place have to offer? Nowt wrong with a 6 inch sometimes and just keep the logs. Otherwise I'd wand something large on a tractor or something and just have done!

Thank you for your reply, our local plant hire company has a 6" chipper for hire certainly not up to the job.

Fair enough. I usually hate hire machines as their not up to standard usually (blunt blades etc ). Try find someone with a pto chipper locally and that should suit your needs. That's if you can get it near the job
