Do we basically dislike the new generations of saws?

I am only a part time user, but I have enjoyed my AT saws. I bought the 2252 new, the 562 never fueled pho from a forum member on another forum, and a used ported 550 from another forum member. I have had no starting problems or running problems.

Have a 540, 560, 576. They are all excellent.

Still have a 346 which is a great saw.

If I let someone else use the saw, particularly the 560, I really notice the difference in how it starts and runs. The auto tune saws seem to need consistency in how they are run to get the best out of them.

All interesting views.

The way to test from a users viewpoint is have 2 generations of like for like saws, get a young lad newish to the game on them for a few days. See what he picks up by choice.

The environment issues do compromise other important things like were research and development isn't getting spent.

I'm on old school saws and as an occasional user should never need to buy another. I have 5

I have three saws , ms 261 cm,441 cm, Husqy 560. I just sent the 560 to Spud , she stopped when idling and throttle response was lacking. I await the verdict on that .

The 261 started running as if low on fuel , but that was because the fuel filter was dislodged after brother chucked the saw from a tree.

441 has been faultless and I like them all.

I am not a full time user.

Glad you like the 560 flatyre, also pleased I had the collection of spares to send with it, hope it's making you money mate. The 620sx which replaced it has been great bar a brake handle screw working lose, given it a stern talking to with locktite and it seems to have learned it's lesson.

I have only ever owned new saws and find the only stuff which doesn't break little annoying things or have starting issues are built by echo or are the bigger stihls my 460 and 661 are cracking machines.

cheers buddy, yeah the 560 is doing great, glad of the spares you sent, used a few already but that's just wear and tear. Never used a 460 or a 661 but have access to a 660, great machine but I have a real itch for an old 372xp and a 3120 not that i'd ever need anything that big:thumbup:

I have had the misfortune of spending a day using a 3120 and it was a bit overkill, and it was a bloody pain, plus do they like a drink! Unless you have plenty of work requiring something that big I'd avoid, found my 661 big enough for everything.

Find an echo dealer nearby you won't look back.

Oh and check the brake band I sent, concerned I may have sent the wrong one! If I have let me know and I will either find the correct one and send it or you can buy the correct one from your local dealer and I will pay for it and you post the one I sent back to me. Hope that seems fair.
