Friends of mine have a chesney stove in their living room, they're now thinking of getting another chesney for their kitchen. the one they already have wasn't cheap, I'm no expert on stoves but to my mind it seems thin and tinny (to use a technical term!). Anyone else ever came across this brand and are they actually any good?

Thanks in advance for any comments

Never had one but any review/report I've seen have been lukewarm at best. Way, way overpriced comes up a lot from what I've seen too.

I'm say here in front of our Hunter stove which is made of 10mm boiler plate and was not that expensive. What size stove are they looking at for the kitchen ? There are lots of good alternatives out there

Pretty happy with ours.

Cheap and tinny it's definitely not!

When you're spending top dollar, which they certainly are, I'd consider all the top brands.

My mates have Morso, Esse, Hunter and others, and they're all good, but I've got no regrets two winters in.

Apart from a towel rail and an oli rad in the twins room it's the only heating in the house, and we're toasty.

Have just fitted one, defo not cheap and cheerful, heavy as to be honest, had it running for about a month, whacked a liner up the chimney and that's as far as I've got, need to add a cowl and a plate at bottom of the chimney, but couldn't wait, last night the room was toasty,so toasty it sends me too sleep, lol

Ok thanks all for feedback, I'll maybe suggest they have look at few other suppliers and if they stick with Chesney's then fair enough, from comments above they seem a decent enough stove.

I have a morso squirrel on the boat I live on and it's amazing runs 24/7 in really cold weather and keeps the whole boat warm and uses very little coal two sacks a week hope that helps some way lol

We fitted a Franco Belge Limousin wood burner 21 years ago and it's still as good as new, original grate bars and door seal although I do have a lump of 16mm plate sat on top of the grate. It gets put into service every night in the winter.
