Hi Jim we had the same happen in are yard in 2012 . we managed to move the livestock but 2 tractors,firewood processor and landrover in 5 foot of water ,workshop had the same .worked 48 hours non stop to drain all oil /water from machines refill with oils run to temperature and drain and refill again. then carried out cleaning tools and all workshop equipment and drying stuff with hair drier and worksop heaters. All you can do is try and salvage all you can . we have had to replace loads of bearing and braking system on land rover s the main problem is getting the silt out from everywere. hope all goes well.

As if the job ain't hard enough to start with. I know it's little consolation but at least the plant sounds repairable. The stock loss sounds a huge setback, any chance of an insurance claim?

 

What's the probability of this happening again and is there anything that can be done to limit the damage?

After a few days now, has the water cleared if so what the extent of the damage and is any off it salvageable, I hope for you you it is mate!!
