Also one niggle I have with the saw is I really dislike the chain break band built into the side plate cover - you can spend a while 'fiddling' until it fits over the sprocket drum!

Same at the ms200t? Not something I've noticed as a problem, goes on easy

I have found the Echo one doesn't! Same for the Echo CS281-WES - you have to play with it for a bit before it goes on.

 

 

But as said - minor niggle really .....

I must admit that I nudged the brake on whilst first refitting the cover and struggled a bit. I RTFM, returned the brake to the off position and it fitted like a glove!

 

This little saw continues to amaze me even with the standard 10" bar. It did take three pulls to start the other day but it was blistering weather and I think the carb chamber just dried up. Quick press of the bulb and off she went.

Will it handle a 12" , 0,50, 3/8 LP bar and chain or is that asking too much?

1/4 10 inch is better for the saw, they come like that as standard at the moment

Haha! Yep - it may be on the odd one it happens or perhaps it is only tricky when spanking new in that case...

Tried to remove the clutch drum today in order to grease the output shaft bearing.

 

I removed the spark plug and pushed lots of starter cord down the plug hole to act as a piston stop but every time i tried to wind off (clockwise) the clutch it just rotated around 360 degrees instead of being 'locked' solid by the cord, i tried a heavier gauge cord and that too failed so i gave up! I wonder if the top of the combustion chamber is 'dome topped' ? I might hafta buy a specific screw in piston stop for this wee saw.
