Ok my lanyard steel hoop is black as opposed to Max Naggle's Silver one. I have had a good poke around and whilst reading Colletti and Patimc's posts and my 2015 build saw looks to be fully up to spec. and safe to use.

As mentioned by someone previously you can see a metal plate that helps keep the hoop in situ. along with the upper and lower plastic prongs.

Anyone else spotted the summer/winter slide next to the spark plug yet ?

I'm staring lovingly as the spark arrestor and wonder will it affect the warranty if i remove it ?

This saw is too noice fer tree work so i'm gonna hang it off me pickup trucks keyring and belt clip it to me jeans....

Kerching! I kept looking at Marge as she is called, (only those of us of a certain generation will recall Echo margarine), before I could bear to get her oiled and fueled up prior to working.

She is just lovely and as RobD says in his video, she runs beautifully from the gitgo. I have worked her hard these last few days and she hasn't missed a beat.

I have the standard bar and chain on Marge and to be honest it is working superbly and haven't yet decided whether or not to put the Stihl bar and chain on. I would be interested to know of any warranty implications mounting a non-original bar and chain set-up might cause.

none i assume as my saw was sent out with a stihl chain and bar combination instead of the stock Echo items.
