Tiny echo!

Haven't even got my bloody recall letter yet. Becoming more and more disillusioned with the Echo guys here. Almost tempted to get the refund and buy the 150.

What's the story here. There have been a gazillion messages on the world wide web by now and you want a personal invitation???

Get your ass of your seat and go to your dealer.

There's really no need to be annoyed when you haven't personally been addressed.

I don't think it's too much to expect a personal notification when £300+ worth of new kit has been recalled for safety reasons.

I've no problem with Echo but it sounds like the blokes dealer is a bit lax.

Friend of ours had a £1000 tv caught fire and when he complained to the supplier they informed him it had been the subject of a recall for the problem. He didn't see the notice as it was buried on the back pages of selected newspapers and on tbe website which he didn't look at.

Just tried the Echo 280TES, removed the spark arrestor and was surprised at how restrictive the exhaust looks. It too has a 'Cat' inside the exhaust as you can just see it.

I really do not like the 3/8ths 50 gauge chain and bar combination, The Chain is a 91PX040XJ, just too aggressive an experience fer me. It'll hafta have .43 gauge cutting equipment fitted me tinks.

Cannot wait for the CS2511 to come out.

Excuse me? Just for your info; I've been chasing up both the dealer and the importer from the day I first read about the recall. I get pushed from one to the other with neither of them really knowing the full story. The importer told me not to ring him again!!!

I don't expect a personal invitation but what I do expect is some form of correspondence having already raised the issue, not being told not to contact the importer with the dealer telling me it's in the importer's hands.

I finally had a call 3 days ago to give me my options. I asked what I was supposed to do in the interim seeing as they were leaving me without a saw. No answer. Still waiting for them to come back to me to let me know when the new saw is out rather than a guesstimate.

Agreed, it's a bit 'meh' at the mo although I'm sure the engine needs to wake up a bit more yet.

Did he accept that? Did the supplier have his contact info?

If have been onto trading standards.

He was given a replacement set as a gesture of goodwill even though the warranty had just expired. The manufacturer had fulfilled their obligation by publishing a recall notice. The supplier is not liable as they did not knowingly sell a faulty product.

I would have thought that the manufacturer would have been obliged to take more thorough action to notify the owner, rather than in a few newspapers. Especially as the product had the potential to catch fire in the buyers house (which I believe is where most people would keep a £1000 tv)!

Did the supplier have any contact details?
