No, they are not a broker.

Funny, last time I went there I'm sure they offered me three different options..

now, if I could be bothered I'd take a look at my insurance policy and see if I'm not imagining things..

Think I need to have a look round next renewal time!

I rang my local NFU and they didn't know what a unimog was. They said they would ring back and never did. Couple of years later I rang again, they gave me the same answer and again never rang back!:sneaky2:

My local NFU told me that they wouldn't touch a tree surgeons Unimog.

With the nfu it really depends on the person at different locations as to what you get offered, 1 office said no to my cherrypicker but another said no problem and sorted it.

How do they manage to do that!?! Surely it's all the same nfu company working with the same insurance companies??

Main office - sorry we won't cover modified vehicles...

Local office - landrover cherrypicker, no problem, what model hight size make age modifications, no problem.

This comes down to the person you are dealing with.

When I approached my local office about a discovery I had extensively self modified to extend the chassis and fit a tipper they just asked for an engineers report.

They were on top of the job, but on another day, another broker looking at the same proposal might just save seen a headache and not fancied putting the effort in.

That's one one the reasons I've stuck with trust insurance. I can talk to someone with in seconds of calling there number and talk to someone who at least has heard of and understands the gear we use in our work

Some offices will of had their fingers burned with a Unimog crashing and taking out a dozen cars in the middle of a high street, others are rural and the office workers are usually from farming background.

Mine is insured commercially.
