Use your expirence the days of going hell for leather are gone because you know the next day you will be f****d

The best climber I saw until recently was a late starter. He used his brain not his brawn.

Grey matter in your head ,matters to the grey head.

Fair comment,Im 36 and trying to get into arb/tree work,, age should not stop you one bit,

its going to be more of a problem of others perceptions , rather than me being to old. if the empolyers gets the choice between a young bloke and a oldie..whats going to sway him? Age descripnation and all that. will see what happens this year.

Don't think he climbs anymore, but he still cycles to the college to lecture.

I first met Mr. Kenyon when I was at Merrist Wood over 20 yrs ago. I heard he had a bad motorbike crash which ended his climbing. Cool to know that he's still there though. I'm 40 this year and I stopped climbing a couple of years ago (with over 15 yrs of it under my belt) after smashing two discs in my lower back. I miss it sometimes but am so busy running TWM that I don't have the time. And anyway, it's not my job to climb anymore, (I'm too busy doing the small business owner thing). I pay my crew to do all that climbing stuff! Would love to get back out to the Redwoods in California and haul my sorry arse up one of those bad boys for a recreational climb at some point in my life though.
