Good day today, priced three little jobs on the high side as they are 70 miles from home, but all within a few miles of each other. Left home at seven fifteen back home by three. All paid when the jobs were finished.

Dug a hole for the veranda extension, hired a 2.5 because my 1.5 tonner is a non starter. Makes a big difference.

Made up a little box this morning, for collecting stuff when I cannot be bothered to switch from the grab to the bucket.

 

I know what you're all thinking, "that guy is wasted climbing trees, he should be a master joiner or something, the craftsmanship is breathtaking"

since I took the day off to concide with the brothers rest day, to process firewood for him.

Wot a proper pisser of a day, 3 changes of clothes later still like a drowned rat.

However a hot shower, a bottle of London Pride and the smell o a sizzling pan in me nostrils(Black Pudding, 'n the trimmings, at 16:15) so feeling MUCH better.

Sadly my creation fell to pieces like a circus clowns car within half an hour.

Well its started out ok, I had my heart set on taking this stick of Oak back to the yard for milling. Its about 5` in diameter and I thought there would be a few table tops in there.

 

It was leaning back quite a lot so we decided to winch it in.

 

 

 

That will be firewood then

 

 

Then the lads who were out on another job stump grinding found some cables buried less than an inch under ground.

 

 

 

And even less in places.

 

 

So not such a good day.
