Duck Oil is the Best ive Found Even Recommended by Some Karabiner Suppliers

 

Lube them Work them till Good Function and then Airline Excess off if Poss do this on a weekly basis or Monthly at least Dependent on use, situation, and conditions used in

not like some Once or Twice a year

 

Im Also a LOLER Inspector and some Karabiners i Inspect for Tests display signs of not been Lubed for some time

 

You are Putting your life in Such Equipment Every time you climb A little Care and Cleaning is not Hard or Time consuming and Could Save your life, i also find when ive cleaned and Lubed my own Gear it Gives me Peace of mind and that is absolutely Priceless

Which make of karabiner fails the most.?

as in General

From My experience its tend to be the Larger ones ,, i dont get many ISC Gecko ones fail which are nearly the same size but over past few tesst ISC Mongoose 3 Way Locking Karabiners have failed due to misalignment of Gate , they also seemed to be more wear on them , But this may also be down to the fact that People See the Size of them and try to Do more with them IE heavy loads etc mixing Climbing and Rigging Karabiners , the ones i seem to fail least are DMM Oval and the Smaller ISC Boa ones

 

there has not been a real OUTSTANDING one , im Pretty sure most of it is down to Operator
