I had a similar problem a few years back when I ran an old 4x4 on biodiesel (most probably recycled cooking oil). Got a cold snap and started running very badly. When I pulled the fuel filter, there was a massive blob of jelly blocking it.

Johny, you can get a little too attached your kit, mate. This was more cloudy than anything else.I just put it down to the temperature. It was all fine when I put half a tank of regular diesel in it.

Hi JOHNY get new filters clean tank out only use very clean can or proper bowser mate cold weather can be a night I've had it on my mf165 thanks Jon

I was talking to Alan Oldfield this week and that Forestry spec 360 had a n episode of poor diesel and it cost £5k to repair! New injectors, engine flush and new oil and filter. Tank flush and new filters, it only got going enough on site at the 3rd attempt to get it recovered!

I suspect some condensation has settled in the diesel somewhere then, I only ever had this problem with one tractor and I could see water build up in the filters which had glass bowls, drained it and thought no more but eventually the tank filter blocked. There was a poor joint between the filler tank and cap which let a bit of water in.

 

I read the problem is becoming worse as biofuel is added to diesel as the bugs grow better in it but the cause remains water in the fuel system somewhere. I think the marine water displacer is simply anhydrous methanol, not that I know where to get that.

You can get biocides for fuel as well as water displacer

had both chipper pack in , fuel is out off a barrall thats just been started,its like a white snotty gluppy stuff & the diesel looks a bit milky not clear ,

 

any thoughts
