Spud? Thanks I'll look him up. Might be an option whilst i run in the MS362

Full user name is spudulike but spud to his mates or Steve if you want his real name . Look at his two long running threads " Whats on your bench today " and of more relevance " spuds tuning and porting " thread .

Missed this thread, Yup - 357XP, fine machine and great to tune. The 362 are a mystery to me, I can't understand how an MS200, MS260and MS660 can run for years on the same clutch needle roller bearing but the 362 knocks them out so quickly and then takes out the oiler worm drive, the clutch drum and in worse cases, the oil pump......just don't get it, something is wrong:confused1:

I haven't played with the autotune 362 but the standard carb one is sort of OK, not very exciting or revvy but works OK but the clutch drum area is a worry!

The MS361 is a different beast, close in numbers but is more like the older MS260/MS460/MS660 range of saws!

I think I am sold on Spuds suggestions for the 357xp. I might have a MS362cm (brand new), up for sale in 2-4 weeks. The 339xp, will likely be up for sale at the same time...

Yes, dont part with the 357, if you flea bay the 362 /339 take a look at an Echo 620sx

nice saw

I might have an option at my dealer for buying a more expensive Stihl saw (i.e. more expensive than the MS362). Any suggestions on a bigger bullet-proof Stihl? I won't keep it, but it may have a decent resale value if it is a known good saw.

Reason for the possible upgrade is that the Supplier is adamant that I can only have what was ordered via my funding, BUT if I am spending more than what was on the original order, I don't think they will have a problem with it.

Definitely getting the MS201T c-m.

They had only one saw bigger than the 362 in stock, but I don't remember what it was...:confused1:
